From the Start, Livestreaming Online Classes for Qin Shi Huang

Preorder in the author’s collection: “The Cannon Fodder Takes the Path of Developing the Nation Through Science and Education.” Please add it to your favorites! After dying, the First Emperor Ying Zheng gets bound to an online-class livestream System and returns to the age of thirteen in another parallel timeline. Among the dazzling array of livestreams, he opens a video with a cover that reads “The Greatest Emperor of All Time: Qin Shi Huang.” The bold, sweeping calligraphy strikes straight at the heart of our First Emperor. But when he clicks in, he sees a young woman in neat, modest clothes teaching a class. Lin Kongyi’s first online class is a total flop. She never expected her students, usually fairly lively in class, to be so unusually quiet online. Maybe it’s because today’s lesson is about the history of political systems, she tells herself. “May I ask, Teacher, what is the difference between autocratic monarchy and centralized rule? Why does the commandery-and-county system strengthen centralization rather than autocratic monarchy?” At last, someone joins Lin Kongyi’s one-woman show. She excitedly looks at the name of the person asking the question: [Ying Zheng]. … The first thing that flashes through Lin Kongyi’s mind is the handful of pranksters in her class. Look at them, playing cosplay during class now. Who do you think you are, pretending to be the greatest emperor of all time? I got the idea from a post in the reader forum suggesting a story about people from ancient times attending online classes. The lessons will mainly cover high school history, so it’ll be a chance to look back on the college entrance exam days, too. Theme: The importance of taking online classes seriously.
