My Good-for-Nothing Childhood Friend Is Actually the Hero of a Shonen Manga

[Next up: "My Whole Family Are Melee Warriors, Except Me." The blurb is at the bottom. Please add it to your reading list!] After moving back to my hometown in Namimori, I met Tsunayoshi-kun from the Sawada family next door. He's adorable, a soft and cuddly blue boy like a little rabbit. He meekly said he was Good-for-Nothing Tsuna, a total failure who failed every subject, but so what? We're both bad students. It's not like I can pass my classes. I felt an instant connection, and naturally we became good friends. It wasn't until middle school, when I pulled a card called the Tenth Vongola from the magical encyclopedia where I was busy collecting cards, that I realized... Me: !!! My good-for-nothing childhood friend, Tsuna, is actually the hero of a hot-blooded shonen manga? The kind who becomes ridiculously strong and saves the world in the future?! That's not fair, Tsuna! With a future like yours, how am I supposed to keep being a good-for-nothing? Hard work! Passion! Growth! Later, I officially got together with a certain rabbit-toothed Tsuna, and we became childhood sweethearts who married young and lived happily ever after. But a few years later, not long after I was promoted to Cloud Guardian of Varia, my husband kicked the bucket, and I became the beautiful widow of a Mafia godfather. Oh my god, what kind of achievement is "get promoted, get rich, and have your husband die"? Is there something wrong with me?! Friends in Tokyo, Yokohama, and Italy either told me to take care of myself or urged me to remarry with my dead ex-husband's inheritance. Me: Get lost, all of you! I don't believe it! My husband is the hero of a shonen manga! Reader's guide: 1. CP27, told in third person. 2. From school uniforms to wedding dresses. A childhood-sweethearts story starting in elementary school, with roughly equal parts plot and everyday life. Coming soon: "My Whole Family Are Melee Warriors, Except Me" The entire Genji family is made up of melee warriors with A-rank strength and speed. Give them a sword and they'll take on Yamata no Orochi and the Hagoromo Fox head-on. But Genji Kaguya, who's frail and gets winded after running a few steps, doesn't fit in at all. Genji Kaguya: Is it possible they switched babies when I was born, and I'm actually from the neighboring Hanaikain family? Genji Hikaru: But the onmyoji next door are all tough enough to fight alongside their shikigami. You definitely can't do that, Kaguya. Genji Kaguya: B-but I'm white-haired! Surely I must be from the Gojo family, famous for producing white-haired people! Genji Hikaru, with a soul-searching question: Do you have cursed energy? Genji Kaguya: ... All right, all right, I get it. Shut up, you idiot brother! Genji Kaguya gave up on herself and decided to lie flat. Then, at the age of eight, she summoned a pair of sister guardian spirits from her dreams. Their names were Shinobu Kocho and Kanae Kocho. When she discovered she was a summoner, Genji Kaguya sprang into action: I knew I should have been named Hanaikain! But it seemed there was a tiny problem with her summoning skill. From the Kocho sisters to the Miyano couple, and then Oda, the devoted father of five, she kept getting bundles of people, buy one, get one free, and all bound to her. They even came with their own friends and family. Didn't she deserve one tall, handsome, gentle, virtuous, and domestically minded guardian spirit all to herself? Then Genji Kaguya summoned a cat-eyed young man who fulfilled all her fantasies. Hiro the Cat: Hiromitsu Morofushi, answering the summons. I hereby willingly enter into a contract with Lady Kaguya today and become your shikigami. I will protect you and follow you for the rest of my life, never betraying you. Genji Kaguya: This has to be the one destined to be mine alone! [Confident.jpg] Only later did she discover that, darn it, this guy also came with a large group of friends and family! Reader's guide: 1. A healing, everyday-life story. The male lead is set: Hiro, one-on-one romance. 2. Fair warning: It will be a crossover with Jujutsu Kaisen and many manga about yokai. Expect utter chaos. Theme: Hard work! Passion! Growth! Victory!
