[Journey to the West] Lotus Root Stew with Turtle

After transmigrating and being reborn as a turtle, I worked hard to cultivate until I could take human form. Prime Minister Turtle of the East Sea, who had given me a chance when no one else would, offered me a job in his service. I’d only been working for three years when a stunning young man took my livelihood away. The Dragon Palace was smashed, and the boss’s son had his sinews ripped out! To repay Prime Minister Turtle, the bravest thing I’d ever done was bite the young man on his glorious rear end. In those few seconds, the boss fled with his whole family in tow. When the young man was bitten, he shot me a gaze as sharp as a blade. It gave me a whole month of nightmares, and not one was the same. Later, after a few things happened, I gradually figured out what was going on. The one who’d taken my job was Third Prince Nezha! This was the world of Journey to the West! Help! Nezha holds a grudge like nobody else! Once he’s reborn, he’s going to settle things with his own father. He’d even kill his dad, let alone a turtle spirit who bit his butt! I’m done for. I’m going to end up as turtle soup! I ran to Flower-Fruit Mountain, only to find that Sun Wukong hadn’t been born yet. He was still a rock! In the end, I went to Guanyin Bodhisattva for help. Guanyin Bodhisattva: Start earning his favor now, and you might still be saved. Me: ... I really did go to the Heavenly Lake to keep Nezha company. After forty-nine years of companionship and cultivation, the young man was reborn. He didn’t seem to hold a grudge anymore, so I happily moved away to lie flat. Strangely, the Third Prince kept passing by my house, making all the demons within a ten-mile radius tremble in fear. Until one day, when I returned from Flower-Fruit Mountain, Nezha stopped me in my tracks. Nezha: Shouldn’t you pay me back for that bite you took all those years ago? :) Me, shocked: You still hold a grudge! ⊙▽⊙ A while later, I went to visit the Heavenly Court. Jade Rabbit: What’s it like dating the Third Prince? Me: ...Pretty sweet, actually. Please add my new Journey to the West stories to your reading list: Me and Nezha: A Thing or Two and [Journey to the West] Blame My Excessive Passion~ After my first crush ended in a devastating way, it took me a long time to recover. Later, my family comforted me, saying I’d definitely find a worthy husband who could hold up the sky. I pulled myself together and believed them, wholeheartedly! Then I realized that if I just stayed home waiting, my ideal husband would never come along. I had to make the first move. I couldn’t miss my chance like I had before! I confessed to the Great Sage Equal to Heaven and got rejected. I confessed to True Lord Erlang and got rejected. I confessed to Hui'an the Wanderer and got rejected. I confessed to Marshal Tianpeng and succeeded! But in the end, he fell for Gao Cuilan instead! After getting my heart broken, I gradually fell for the Black Bear Spirit, the White Bone Spirit, the Six-Eared Macaque, the Golden Horn King, the Great King Linggan, the One-Horned Rhinoceros King, the Red-Scaled Python, the Leopard Spirit, the Golden-Nosed White-Haired Mouse Spirit, and more... Without exception, I was either rejected or separated from them by some irresistible force. I stood crying at my front door, sobbing so hard my heart was breaking, lamenting all my love affairs that had died before their time. “You’re so noisy. How many suitors have you chased off with all that crying?” a young man’s voice came from the tree. Sniffling, I wiped my tears with a handkerchief. “Of course the Third Prince doesn’t understand the pain of a breakup! Waaah, your Li family has ruined so many of my matches! It’s not fair!” The young man gloated. “If your love were strong enough, no one could break you up. If they can, then you weren’t meant to be. You should be grateful to us.” “Waaah! Sob, sob... I don’t care. I want a partner! I want a sweet romance! I’m so pitiful! My parents have been showing off their love for thousands of years, while I’m still single. I can’t go on like this! The three Li brothers can give me one of you, can’t they?” “...Stop crying. I’ll date you, all right?” I’m going premium on April 3. Thank you, my dears, for your support. New chapters will be posted at noon every day from then on. A few things to note, including content warnings: 1. Lots of fanon details. This is my take on Nezha, and it’s an indulgent project. Nezha is nasty in the early chapters. 2. At heart, this is a light, sweet romance about dating Nezha. 3. A turtle spirit heroine who’s highly defensive but weak on offense, flexible and resilient, and a foodie who likes to lie flat VS Nezha, whose beauty outshines the Three Realms, powerful and grudge-holding, a “sunny, cheerful boy.” 4. The heroine isn’t a strong female lead. She works hard so she can lie flat better, but the little turtle is strong and at peace with herself. Nezha is violent and too rough at first; they gradually learn to get along.
