The Sleep Aid Blogger Who Keeps Asking for Updates Is My Boss

Insomniac x sleep-aid ASMR creator

Quiet on the outside, wild on the inside x aloof on the outside, doting in private

You Sheng is an insomniac who can only fall asleep with the help of medication.

One day, she comes across a sleep-aid video by chance.

The video shows only a man's hands, with their sharply defined knuckles. His fingers move close to the microphone as he uses common objects like a feather duster, an ear pick, cotton swabs, and a straw to create incredible sounds. The occasional soft words from the man make it all light and soothing.

You Sheng gets her first good night's sleep in years.

After that, You Sheng listens to the man's sleep-aid videos every night as she falls asleep.

She learns that this is called "ASMR."

She becomes hooked on ASMR and falls even more in love with the man's sleep-aid videos. You Sheng becomes the new creator's first devoted fan.

Every day after work, she comes home and urges him to post more.

"Teacher, I want to hear the wooden ear pick scraping the mic."

"Aww, baby, I want to hear blowing sounds and ear touching."

Until one day, the man suddenly stops posting.

Without the videos to help her sleep, You Sheng's insomnia worsens, and she goes to work seething every day.

When her boss scolds her for being late, she wants to kill, kill, kill!

When her boss criticizes her crappy proposal, she wants to kill, kill, kill!

When her boss says he's taking her on a business trip, she goes into a full-on, 360-degree, whirlwind killing spree!

Under the double pressure of insomnia and work, You Sheng decides to quit.

She pushes open the office door. "Director Lu, I want to resign..."

Inside the office.

A man in a suit, quiet and stern, holds a pink pom-pom in one hand and an ivory-colored feather duster in the other. With his lips lightly against the microphone, he skillfully records the sleep-aid video he plans to post tonight.

The computer screen is open to the account's profile page.

"Lnn Helps You Sleep"

At the same time, a notification chimes on You Sheng's phone.

"A creator you've marked as a favorite is online~"

Lu Tingnan is meticulous and never smiles at work. In his subordinates' eyes, he's a demon boss.

He works diligently during the day, then takes off his mask at night to make sleep-aid videos.

He never shows his face and rarely speaks. His account has pitifully few followers, only 34, and they're all inactive.

One day, he suddenly gains a high-quality, real-life fan. After watching every one of his sleep-aid videos, she starts urging him to post more.

Lu Tingnan treasures her.

He grants every request his little fan makes.

Until one night on a business trip, his young assistant is asleep in the hotel bed, her phone still glowing beside her pillow.

His sleep-aid video is playing on repeat.

The young woman murmurs in her sleep, "I wish you could keep lulling me to sleep forever."
