I have two senior uncles. My Eldest Senior Uncle is easygoing and keeps out of things. My Second Senior Uncle looks at me with disgust, as if I were filth from the Netherworld.
I’m the only disciple in the whole sect, so life is just about manageable.
In the first part of each month, I go to my Eldest Senior Uncle to study alchemy. In the middle of the month, I go to my Second Senior Uncle to study artifact refining. In the last part of the month, I go to my master to cultivate... No, wait. I have to go find my unreliable master first?
I lived through thousands of uneventful years like this, until one day, the Three Pure Ones split up.
My master took me and a group of junior brothers and sisters from Kunlun Mountain to Jinao Island in the East Sea.
Life at Biyou Palace was utter chaos. I missed the days when there were only four people in the whole sect.

At first, Yuanshi always thought Tongtian’s disciples were impossibly stupid. Thousands of years had passed, and their cultivation was still stuck at the Great Encompassment level. Cultivating should come as naturally as eating and drinking, so why hadn’t they understood it yet?
Later, he started taking disciples of his own and discovered there was always someone worse. His disciples were more foolish than the last.
"How can all twelve of you together still not measure up to Tongtian’s one Duobao?"
-
Those ten thousand years on Kunlun Mountain seemed ordinary at the time.
-
1. Yuanshi x Duobao. The main story is told in third person from Duobao’s perspective, with Duobao as the receiving partner.
2. My take on the prehistoric setting, with lots of original worldbuilding.
3. A weird crack ship, but I ship them.
4. Not part of a series.
5. Updates four days, then takes three days off. If I can’t update, I’ll post a notice before eleven at night.
Coming soon:
Those Years Raising Little Ones in the Primordial World
Synopsis:
Hongjun passed by Kunlun Mountain and, by chance, picked up Shangqing Tongtian, who had run away from home.
Looking at the unformed ball of Shangqing Qi before him, Hongjun felt a stir of interest and couldn’t help drawing close. So delicious, and so nourishing.
Unfortunately, this ball of Shangqing Qi had a complicated origin. If he ate it, the Heavenly Dao would hold it against him, so Hongjun could only sigh with regret.
Later, Hongjun thought about how dangerous the Primordial World was and worried that Shangqing Qi, who was out in the world for the first time, might get hurt. After thinking it over, he decided the safest thing was to raise the ball of Shangqing Qi himself.
Hongjun: Shangqing Qi is still so weak. Someone might catch and eat him, so of course I have to protect him.

After the Investiture of the Gods, Sect Master Tongtian of the Jie Sect was taken back to the Zixiao Palace by the Dao Ancestor to reflect for three thousand years.
Throughout those long three thousand years of reflection, he kept thinking about how, during the Investiture of the Gods, his two elder brothers had forgotten their bonds of brotherhood, insulted him, and even joined forces with outsiders to destroy the Jie Sect. He seethed with resentment. What a waste of the red flower, white lotus root, and green lotus leaf that they had been! If he could start over, he would never be brothers with Laozi and Yuanshi again.
Perhaps the Great Dao had heard Tongtian’s thoughts. He woke from a dream and found himself back at the beginning of the Primordial World, before the Three Pure Ones had taken form.
Tongtian: Is this for real? This can actually happen?
Since the Great Dao had given him another chance, he was going to do as he pleased for once.
Tongtian immediately decided to leave Kunlun Mountain.
-
Tongtian was caught by Hongjun as soon as he left the mountain. Looking at the familiar person right in front of him, he was overcome with emotion. At that moment, he remembered the three thousand years he had spent with his teacher in the Zixiao Palace, day and night: three long thousand years, so tedious even a sage would find them dull.
Hongjun examined the ball of Shangqing Qi before him and belatedly noticed that, although it hadn’t even taken form, it was looking at him with a hint of pity.
Hongjun: I don’t know why, but something feels off. Maybe I should eat him.
After thinking hard for a long time, Tongtian finally realized that Hongjun meant "eat" literally. A sense of crisis swept over him.
Tongtian: Teacher, I’m going to be your most beloved disciple in the future!!!
Hongjun noticed the words "most beloved" and thought: Really? Sounds like "most beloved" is an exaggeration.
This ball of Shangqing Qi is a bit too cheeky.
-
Much later, Hongjun proved through countless actions that Tongtian hadn’t been lying when he said he would be his most beloved disciple.
How could Hongjun bear to let Shangqing Tongtian suffer even the slightest injustice?
-
1. Hongjun x Tongtian
2. Lots of original worldbuilding. The writing isn’t great.
3. I think there was something else I forgot to say. I’ll add it later.
Feel free to check out my other upcoming novel on the same theme, An Unremarkable Life in the Primordial World, Becoming a Sage.
