My Boyfriend Told Me He's a Tentacled Monster

Xie An'an woke up under her boyfriend's gaze. Unlike usual, he didn't give her a good-morning kiss. Instead, he looked solemn and serious. "An'an, I might not be human. I'm a monster, the kind with tentacles."

Xie An'an thought this was her boyfriend suddenly getting into role-play. "Are the tentacles long? Can they do a lot of things?"

Her boyfriend actually thought about it seriously for a moment. "I'll do my best to grow them longer."

Xie An'an assumed her boyfriend was still half-asleep and didn't take him seriously.

One day, while showering, she caught a glimpse of a black snake slipping through the gap under the door. She screamed, but even after she made her boyfriend search the whole house, they couldn't find any black snake.

Another day, while getting dressed, she felt something touching her waist. A feather-light touch crept upward. She shuddered and turned around, only to see her handsome boyfriend standing far away at the door, smiling at her. "What's wrong?"

Xie An'an figured she must be hallucinating because of work stress. She went to the hospital, where a gentle doctor told her that she was seriously ill and should be hospitalized. He also prescribed her a whole pile of medicine and told her to take it regularly without stopping.

Xie An'an decided the doctor was just a quack who pushed medicine and left empty-handed. When she opened her front door, the house was full of inky-black tentacles waving in every direction. Some were preparing vegetables, cooking, and simmering soup in the kitchen. Others were mopping the floor and folding clothes, while a few were waving her clothes around wildly...

When they saw her come in, the tentacles immediately cheered and shrieked with excitement, writhing wildly as they rushed toward her. "My cute, beautiful, charming, irresistible girlfriend is home! I missed you so much, sob sob!"

Xie An'an: ? They can even talk!? I really must be seriously ill...

Her boyfriend sat on the sofa, carefully snipping away at two tentacles in his hands. When he saw Xie An'an at the door, he froze for a moment, then smiled slowly, the corners of his lips lifting. He looked a little regretful and a little excited. "Oh no, my girlfriend found out."

Xie An'an: ...So my boyfriend already knew I was seriously ill!

At first, Song Zhinan really did try to raise his tentacles like his girlfriend had asked.

After her friends pushed her off a boat, Tong Meijia woke up on a deserted island. There was no food or water, and she couldn't contact the outside world. Her shelter was a long-abandoned, dilapidated lighthouse. She thought she would starve to death there.

The monster left fresh water and food outside the door during the day, and tossed shells and pearls inside at dusk. At midnight, the monster gently knocked on the door amid the sound of the waves, professed his love, and asked her to marry him.

Tong Meijia was so frightened that she cried.

The monster carried off her tears. Its voice sounded terrifying against the waves. "Your tears are so sweet. You look so beautiful when you cry."

3. The Ancient Vine in the Temple and Its Bride

Jiang Yuewen accompanied a friend to pray for romance at a thousand-year-old temple. On the way down the mountain, she sprained her ankle and rested against a big tree. Branch after branch shot out of the soil, bound her, and lifted her into the dense canopy, where the sunlight could not reach.

The leaves rustled. The branches wrapped tightly around her, and a coarse voice made her skin crawl. "Hee hee, I've caught you this time."
