[Seven Heroes and Five Gallants] I’m Really Not a Monster

Zhan Zhao has had a terrible headache lately. The monsters causing trouble in Bianliang City have come up with all kinds of schemes.

A fox spirit swindling people out of betrothal gifts? A weasel stealing tribute offerings?

Lord Bao made the call: "Guard Zhan, find someone who knows their stuff!"

Yue Chan is a native of Bianliang and a rabbit demon, skilled at watching the drama unfold.

One day, she was crouched on a rooftop, munching on a carrot, when Zhan Zhao grabbed her by the ears and hauled her down.

"I'm hiring you as a demon consultant for Kaifeng Prefecture. Three coins a month."

Yue Chan's fur stood on end. "Three coins?! My dignity as a demon is worth a lot, you know!"

But her body followed him without hesitation. After all, she was a rabbit demon with dreams too!

From then on, a swaggering little rabbit followed behind the Imperial Cat.

Evil demons and petty troublemakers from the martial world wept bitterly.

Lord Bao stroked his beard with a smile, while Gongsun Ce furiously took notes for his Illustrated Guide to Demons.

One day, after a case was closed, Yue Chan hopped over to ask for her reward:

"My lord, three coins aren't enough to buy carrots!"

Zhan Zhao pulled out his money pouch without a change in expression. "I'll add a whole basket."

Villainous demon: "Wait! I had my reasons!"

Zhan Zhao: "Tell Yue Chan."

Yue Chan: "Confess and you'll be treated leniently. Resist and you'll be treated even more harshly! Out with it!"

She stood with her hands on her hips, looking smug.
