Four Immortals at Chess

The mortal world is a board for the immortals to play on. Mortals are their game pieces.

This game is called Four Immortals Chess.

The immortal will grant the winning piece's wish.

Whenever a game starts over, Meng Po erases the pieces' memories.

But one day, Meng Po accidentally added too much water to her soup, and all the mortals who drank it were reborn with their memories intact.

The immortals playing against each other suddenly discovered that their pieces were no longer obeying them. What should have been a proper game of chess had turned into a game where the pieces moved on their own.

Fortunately, the rules could still be changed. The immortals peered at the pieces while hastily issuing new rules.

Some followed the rules, while others cheated.

A certain immortal lord appeared calm and composed, but secretly sent a wisp of his divine consciousness into the body of the enemy general who was gaining momentum.

But the woman refused to follow his commands and led her troops to capture all his pieces.

After winning, she came to the celestial realm and said to the goddess, "I want him."

The goddess who had won the game raised an eyebrow and looked at the aloof immortal lord. "Are you willing..."

The immortal lord's dark eyes turned cold. "I refuse."

The general smirked and threatened him. "Refuse me, and I'll tell everyone you cheated."

This is the prequel to a planned long xianxia novel.

The story in the mortal world is complete and can be read on its own.

I'll continue it if I get the chance. (Lying down)
