After Faking Her Death, the Empress Went Mad with Obsession

At fifteen, Yu Qingyan went off to war. By sixteen, her name was known throughout the land. She was the Great Yan dynasty's female general, revered by thousands. Everyone knew she had a sworn enemy at court. Each was loyal to her own master, and the two were utterly at odds, stirring up the capital's political tides.

No one knew that the two who crossed swords in public shared a bed at night.

Ye Xuanyin reclined on the bed, her clothes half undone, and patted the empty space beside her. Come on up. Don't be shy.

Yu Qingyan's ears reddened. If I remember correctly, this is my home.

Ye Xuanyin: I wanted to get your attention.

Yu Qingyan: By provoking me all the time?

Ye Xuanyin: I hate that you're as thick as a plank!

In times of turmoil, Yu Qingyan helped Ye Xuanyin rise to power, then retired once her mission was done.

After an ambush, she faked her death to escape.

When they met again, Yu Qingyan was living in seclusion in the mountains, while Ye Xuanyin had become a volatile, ruthless empress.

Yu Qingyan: I think I can explain.

Ye Xuanyin smiled warmly. No rush. You can come to my harem and explain at your leisure, A Yan.
