[Everyone Gets the Crematorium Treatment]
Chun Rou had been a messenger since childhood.
She collected letters full of affection for her young mistress and delivered exquisite gifts from her admirers.
Those noble young gentlemen would tell her, "Thank you, Miss Chun."
But they never looked her in the eye. They thought she was beneath them.
When she grew up, she entered the prince's residence alongside her young mistress. Her mistress became the princess consort, and Chun Rou became her head maid.
On the very night her mistress planned to arrange Chun Rou's marriage to the commander of the prince's residence, the old madam assigned Chun Rou to the prince instead.
It turned out her mistress was frail and couldn't share a bed with her husband. The old madam was worried, so she had taken it upon herself to arrange this.
And the young mistress's refined, noble husband had happened to catch her meeting another man the night before.
So that day, the young mistress sat in the room next door, listening as Chun Rou and her husband called for water again and again, their voices carrying through the walls. Her face turned deathly pale.
What she didn't know was that this was exactly what Chun Rou wanted. She had spent years painstakingly setting everything up and plotting it all.
Chun Rou wished her a fate worse than death.
*
Chun Rou had been reborn.
She carried a blood feud, yet in her previous life she had remained loyal to her enemy until she finally saw her true face on her deathbed.
After being reborn, she learned that she was merely a minor cannon-fodder character in a storybook, while her young mistress was the exalted protagonist.
The storybook had many male leads, and every one of them loved her young mistress.
Her husband loved her, the young gentlemen loved her, the heir to the throne loved her, and even the crown prince loved her.
And every one of them was her enemy.
To clip her young mistress's wings, she had to cut them all off, one by one, before she could take her revenge.
Those men all looked down on her status. In the end, they had to swallow the bitter consequences themselves.
* No number of labels can describe a soul so captivating and resilient.
[This story explores malice, especially the emotion of jealousy, so the female lead may come across as a villainess.]
P.S. Since this is my first crematorium story, I have a lot to say.
1. The female lead is weak, but the male leads willingly let themselves get tangled up with someone weaker and willingly offer their necks for the blade.
2. The female lead is an acting genius. Any deep affection is all an act. Her real personality is fairly lively and a bit optimistic, and she's good at comforting herself, like a resilient little weed. She's not as consumed by bitterness as the blurb makes her seem.
3. Originally, I wrote it as a transmigration bureau's Chun Rou going to an extremely difficult S-rank world for an internship, complaining as she tried to win people over.
Then I planned to post it on Bofan, but later signed with Jinjiang--
(There are lots of stories like this, where someone transmigrates and wins over the male leads from the original book.)
But some of the scenes in this story are pretty delicious (really, really. The original version can't be posted, of course, but even the revised version is...),
and with the crematorium storyline, it didn't seem like a good fit for the historical transmigration category, where most stories are female-led power fantasies with plot-driven arcs. It's not quick transmigration either (scratches head).
So! This is really a story about winning people over. Just remember that Chun Rou is [forced] to win over the protagonist group. Emphasis on forced.
4. Insult the men, not Chun Rou or Big Dog QAQ.
5. There are four targets, plus other people with one-sided crushes on Chun Rou.
6. These men are genuinely hard to win over, so it takes time. If you expect Chun Rou to max out their affection right away just because the title says everyone gets the crematorium treatment, then keep moving!!!
7. The crown prince is not a virgin (I'll see if I want to change it later, but making him one would be a little weird). The others are.
I've already written tens of thousands of words. I plan to post it after finishing Forced to Win Over the Male Leads.
