A staple of old-school romance novels is the scheming villainess. It seems the story simply cannot get underway without one.
Song Qingyun is just such a villainess. She is calculating, selfish, an inveterate liar, and willing to do whatever it takes to get what she wants. She is the opposite of the purehearted, kind, gentle, and selfless heroine.
Song Qingyun is determined to stick to her villainess role and follow the plot, but the male lead refuses to play by the rules.
World One: Song Qingyun takes credit for saving the heroine's life and enjoys all the conveniences the male lead provides without a shred of guilt, eventually becoming his girlfriend.
Unfortunately, a villainess is still a villainess, and lies always come to light. Song Qingyun keeps waiting for the male lead to confront her, but the truth never comes out. Anxious, she “accidentally” lets it slip herself, only to receive a grand marriage proposal from him instead...
World Two: Song Qingyun works under the male lead. They fall in love at first sight, get along wonderfully, and soon decide to elope. But on the day they register their marriage, the apocalypse arrives.
The male lead is gravely injured saving her, and Song Qingyun immediately makes a run for it without looking back.
To survive, the now-married Song Qingyun keeps her marital status a secret. On her way to a safe zone, she runs into an ex-boyfriend from college. Their history leads him to care for her devotedly and keep her safe.
Just as she is going to great lengths to rekindle things with her ex, she accidentally runs into the male lead, who has become the leader of the safe zone...
World Three: Song Qingyun likes the male lead's younger half-brother, who shares the same mother. Unfortunately, the brother is so popular that he is surrounded by too many women from prestigious families, leaving someone as lowly as Song Qingyun with no chance.
To get close to him, Song Qingyun turns her attention to the inconspicuous male lead. She uses passionate, sincere affection to deceive him, claiming he is the only one she will ever love.
Just as Song Qingyun expected, the male lead's younger brother is drawn to her and, out of jealousy, tries to take her away.
When the time is right, Song Qingyun makes a heartfelt confession to the younger brother, unaware that the male lead is standing behind her and has “accidentally” heard the whole truth.
Song Qingyun breaks up with the male lead on the spot, only to learn the next day that he has been recognized by his birth family...
World Four: Gold-Digging, Angelic-Looking Fake Heiress X Devoted, Long-Suffering True Young Master
World Five: Vain, Scheming Childhood Friend X Cunning, Gentle Childhood Friend
World Six: Honey-Tongued, Two-Faced Poor Girl X Loyal, Upright Young Noble
World Seven: Lying Little Demon Cultivator X Aloof, Handsome Celestial Emperor
World Eight: Dependent Cousin X Refined, Long-Suffering Cousin, the Heir Apparent
Tentative list...
[Heartless, Naturally Disloyal Heroine Who Only Wants to Follow the Plot VS Male Lead Who Is Gentle, Steady, and Understanding at First, and Even After Turning Dark Later, Still Cannot Bear to Hurt the Heroine]
1. This is a one-on-one romance with a happy ending. The heroine is a heartbreaker, and the story is heroine-focused. The male lead suffers physically and emotionally, but is devoted to and deeply in love with the heroine.
2. The order of the worlds may vary. If I enjoy writing them, I'll add more. If there's a world you'd like to read first, just leave a comment. I'll write the one that gets the most likes.
3. If you spot any logical inconsistencies, please feel free to point them out. The author will gladly make revisions.
