[I'm writing this one next: everyday FBI life with a Gintama-like vibe (?)]
Hi, everyone. Something really unfortunate happened recently: after years of being a master thief, my brother finally got himself locked up.
Before I could even react and pack up to run, I got locked up too.
Just as I was staring down a bald prison guard, about to start chatting about poetry and life ambitions, the iron gate suddenly swung open.
I turned around and saw a handsome guy with long, straight black hair, a cigarette dangling from his lips.
Standing beside him was an old acquaintance: the FBI agent who had arrested my brother. We'd seen each other so often growing up, he was practically a regular fixture in my life.
The agent looked at me sympathetically. "Miss Asukai, this is the investigator who'll be in charge of supervising you from today onward."
I nodded repeatedly. "I get it, I get it. Just like my brother, I'm going to be forced to work for the FBI, right? Do I have to wear an ankle monitor too? Do I get paid? Could you get me a bigger budget?"
The agent hesitated. "No..."
I slowly typed out a question mark.
"...Your future workplace will be the FBI's HRT Hostage Rescue Team. Starting tomorrow, you'll work as a consultant, helping the FBI respond to terrorist attacks and emergencies."
He finished speaking. He went out. He disappeared.
I turned around in a daze and stared down the handsome guy with long, straight black hair.
...Wait, weren't people in our line of work only supposed to get stuck doing unpaid labor catching petty thieves when they got arrested???
Lena Asukai, a thief, and her unrelated family:
Brother: Neal Caffrey [thief]
Second brother: Kuroba Kaito [thief]
Uncle: "Mosquito" [thief]
Uncle: Arsene Lupin III [thief]
Little brother: Amamiya Ren [a phantom thief is still a thief]
Another uncle: Peter Burke [FBI agent]
Peter: ?
1. First-person narration
2. Tentative pairing: Akai. Thanks to various butterfly effects, nothing will happen between Akai, Akemi, or Jodie.
3. My take on a crossover universe, mixing anime, American TV dramas, and Japanese dramas (? )
4. The heroine's only allegiance is to herself. Her brother is the male lead of the American TV series White Collar (I know the title sounds lame, but it's really good!!)
5. I can't promise there won't be supernatural or fantasy elements...
6. Some cheerful everyday FBI life. The heroine is an unleashed wild dog (?)
Akai, like: Should I buy a sturdier leash for the dog?
