Day After Day, Year After Year

On the day Sheng Yan was born, the troops led by Emperor Sheng breached the capital of the Li Dynasty. From then on, the Huai River divided the realm into Northern Sheng and Southern Li.

On Sheng Yan's sixth birthday, Emperor Sheng reclaimed Southern Li and unified the realm. She also became the Princess Zhaoyue, personally appointed by the emperor.

Princess Zhaoyue was the most dazzling jewel created by Great Sheng. Her life and blood belonged in service to Great Sheng, but the arrival of Qiao Sui, the general's illegitimate daughter, changed everything.

After meeting Qiao Sui, radiant as the sun, Sheng Yan no longer wanted to be that lofty jewel set atop a crown.
