In her previous life, everyone said Lin Yueyi had made one wrong turn after another.
She was the second child in her family, with an older brother and a younger brother. She was pretty as a picture, and the only daughter, so naturally her family doted on her.
Like the other members of the "old three graduating classes," Lin Yueyi suddenly graduated and was sent to the countryside. She was assigned to this part of southern Xinjiang.
There was endless work at the forest farm, and the labor was grueling. Women were worked like men, and men like beasts. With no end in sight, Lin Yueyi was coaxed by the village Party secretary into marrying his second son.
But a few years later, the college entrance exams were reinstated and the educated youths began returning home. Lin Yueyi, however, was "trapped" in the village with a child and another on the way.
She spent her days in tears.
Thankfully, just as she was desperate enough to take her own life, she opened her eyes and found herself back in the summer of 1975, before she was married.
This time, she’ll earn her work points and get into college. She’ll close her heart to love and make sure no man gets in the way of her progress.
(The story may get a little polishing and editing later, but the premise won’t change. Note from 2023.02.10.)
