Childhood:

Young Gojo Satoru, who had developed a rebellious streak early on, was sick to death of the shrine maiden Muye Ji, whom he was engaged to as a child.

But little Muye Ji couldn't read the room and assumed he was just shy.

So, hoping to befriend him, she followed him everywhere like a little shadow.

Jujutsu High:

Having lost her innocence, Muye Ji became a lackey for the higher-ups, doing their dirty work.

Gojo Satoru still couldn't stand her, just as he couldn't back then.

Muye Ji's childhood idealization of him had long since shattered, but with the higher-ups holding her in their grip, she had to play along.

But after he repeatedly treated her with icy disdain, Muye Ji grew sick of everything.

If she couldn't get out of the engagement, she'd just have to find a way to kill him.
