[Blurb]
Li Xingyang is an utterly ordinary high school student.
His features are regular but unremarkable, and his grades are average, neither high nor low.
Among the thousands of students at his school, he has the same sole goal for this stage of his life: the college entrance exam. He has no other thoughts.
Or at least, that's how things should have been.
Until one day, without warning, Li Xingyang has a strange dream.
In it, he witnesses a melodramatic, twist-filled yet tender campus romance, following two protagonists from their first meeting, to understanding and falling in love, and finally promising to spend their lives together.
There's nothing particularly unusual about that. After all, similar plots have been remade as TV dramas countless times over the years, with only superficial changes. Even if Li Xingyang has never eaten pork, he's seen pigs run.
But what truly surprises him is that one of the story's protagonists is his current classmate, Chu Baihe, a boy. The other is Gu Feiqi, a transfer student who will arrive from another school during their second year of high school.
Also... a boy.
Li Xingyang has to admit, he's never seen anything like this before.
In the story, Gu Feiqi will kill anyone who stands in his way for Chu Baihe, beating up the nasty rivals and crushing the cannon fodder. His school life is smooth sailing, as if he's riding on the wheels of a wind-and-fire chariot, and his relationship with Chu Baihe progresses by leaps and bounds from the moment they meet.
He's like one of those protagonists in a certain web novel, born with a halo and endlessly cheating his way through life.
As for Li Xingyang, he's filed under "classmate." His name is never even mentioned. He's merely a... faceless extra, referred to in passing when the plot calls for it.
Not even important enough to count as cannon fodder.
[Please note]
1. The cover features the two protagonists and was illustrated by the author.
2. Pairing: Chu Baihe x Li Xingyang (cool, gentle top x sunny, lively bottom)
3. The plot is a slow burn.
4. The setting is more or less an alternate modern world.
5. At heart, this is just a very conventional little love story.
Theme: Help others, and in doing so, help yourself.
