Wen Jiayin attended an elite financial salon with a powerful business figure.
She charmed everyone she met, and left with three meetings lined up.
It wasn't until the salon was nearly over that she finally had a chance to recharge with a plate of food.
"Not bad, this free dinner," a lazy male voice said behind her.
Wen Jiayin swallowed the cream in her mouth, turned around, and smiled. "May I ask who you are?"
Leaning against a tall table, the man replied carelessly,
"Instead of wasting your breath on those old men, why not talk to me?"
He paused, the corners of his lips lifting as he held Wen Jiayin's gaze.
"Besides, your mother was involved with my father. We know each other pretty well, don't you think?"
As he spoke, someone patted Wen Jiayin on the shoulder.
"Run into someone you know?"
Wen Jiayin turned with a charming smile.
"I just said hello to this gentleman. We haven't been properly introduced."
