Ji Xunhuan is arrogant and domineering, makes enemies everywhere, spends money like water, and loves nothing more than a life of luxury and debauchery.

But thanks to the glory of his elder sister, the emperor's favored consort, and his own title as the emperor's brother-in-law, no one dares lay a finger on him.

He has two secrets:

First, countless people have passed through his bed, but he has never loved anyone. He loves only himself.

Second, he is intersex, with both male and female traits.

Ji Xunhuan thinks he will keep these secrets until he dies, but his elder sister suddenly falls ill and passes away. With his protector gone, his hangers-on scatter...

He wants to stay alive, and he wants to keep living the way he did before.

But he is afraid of death, and even more afraid of hardship. There's only one thing he's good at: using his body to seduce people.

Shadow Guard Jiu is Ji Xunhuan's loyal dog, docile and submissive, becoming more besotted the more he is mistreated. He is also the first person Ji Xunhuan chooses.

But a shadow guard is only a shadow guard. He can't give Ji Xunhuan the wealth and status he wants, so once Ji Xunhuan has used him, he sends him away.

How much is a sincere heart worth? Trading a shadow guard for a chance to get close to the crown prince is worth it.

He will climb his way up by attaching himself to the crown prince, the general, and the emperor...

He will keep climbing, step by step, until no one can pull him back down.

But when that day arrives, tens of thousands of enemy cavalry invade the imperial palace. The enemy emperor, Tuoba Zhuo, charges into the inner palace, drenched in blood.

He holds a knife to Ji Xunhuan's throat. The voice from behind the mask is both strange and familiar:

"Congratulations on finally getting what you wanted. It's a shame I killed that dog of an emperor..."

Tuoba Zhuo removes his mask. The name Ji Xunhuan is tattooed across his cold, sharply defined face. A master's name is a mark a shadow guard can never wash away.

Shadow Guard Jiu grips Ji Xunhuan's face and asks, "Tell me, who should you attach yourself to now...?"

For everyone's sake, please read the following before starting:

1. Ji Xunhuan is a bisexual male top, but his female organs are underdeveloped and his male characteristics are more pronounced. He looks androgynous, but more like a man.

2. One-on-one. He dates one person, breaks up, then moves on to the next. There are four bottoms in total: Shadow Guard Jiu, Crown Prince Li Yi, General He Cang, and Emperor Li Wenyin. The romance focuses mainly on He Cang and Shadow Guard Jiu, and Shadow Guard Jiu is the endgame.

3. A womanizer top, an unparalleled beauty, a Mary Sue top. Everyone loves his face, and he's got countless unrequited admirers.

4. The top knows how to put on an act, but has no feelings. He might develop a few in the end, but not many. He loves himself most and doesn't care about anyone else. He's simply a pretty "villain."

5. This is a story written to indulge the author's tastes, so I can't guarantee there won't be other things in the main text that need a warning. If anything above makes you uncomfortable, leave immediately!

6. This is a stress-relief story, with the sort of shameless content I enjoy reading. Updates are irregular, and the length is undecided. Also, the author's education is limited, so the word choice and phrasing tend to be modern. Those who care about historical accuracy should stay away.

As Min Yi cuts the spiritual root from his own chest, he thinks: So the six years he thought he had been saved were all a debt he had to repay.

Min Yi was born in a pool of blood. Perhaps Heaven was punishing him for causing his mother's death. A red birthmark covers half his face, and his sickly body leaves him gasping for breath every few steps.

His father hates him for causing his beloved wife's death, while his family despises him for being ugly and mediocre.

No matter how hard he tries to please them and prove himself, he never receives the slightest kindness in return.

Instead, they lock him away in a small courtyard and forbid him from appearing in front of anyone.

Min Yi spends ten years surrounded by dust and befriending snakes and insects.

But children his age, dressed in finery, often come to the fence. They trick him into coming out, then throw stones at him, singing:

"Ugly freak, sickly wretch, hated by all and loved by none."

They love seeing Min Yi tremble with red-rimmed eyes. At least he can retreat to his thatched hut.

It's filthy and cluttered, crawling with cockroaches and rats. No one is willing to go near it.

Then a man arrives before him, as aloof as the moon and as beautiful as an immortal. With spotless fingers, he brushes away the filthy hair hiding Min Yi's face.

"Little one, would you like to come with me to Wuwen Sect?"

Wuwen Sect is the greatest sword sect under Heaven, a sacred place no sword cultivator would ever allow to be defiled.

Feng Shengxue is the greatest sword cultivator under Heaven, a master as noble and bright as the moon in the hearts of all sword cultivators.

Min Yi becomes the most cherished junior disciple in all of Wuwen Sect, and Feng Shengxue's only disciple.

His senior sisters dote on him and care for him in every way.

His senior brothers protect him, always rushing to his aid whenever he is in trouble.

His master pities him and keeps him by his side, raising him personally.

Min Yi spends six wonderful years in a life he never dared to dream of, until his sixteenth birthday arrives.

Min Yi kneels in a pool of blood. His senior sister put the Poison of the Twisting Machine in his drink, robbing him of his powers. His senior brother drove a Demon-Locking Spike into his shoulder, leaving him unable to move. And the person pointing a sword at him is the master he has quietly fallen in love with.

Min Yi sees Feng Shengxue's face, cold as the bright moon, reflected in the pool of blood. He clutches the hem of his pure white robe and asks, "Master, is there not even a trace of tenderness in your heart for me?"

Feng Shengxue pries his hand loose and drives his sword down through Min Yi's spine.

A demon of the utmost yin and evil is worthless if he cannot be used to forge a sword from his bones. How dare he speak of love to me?

But when Min Yi cuts out his own spiritual root and stumbles off the edge of a deep ravine, the emotions Feng Shengxue sealed away for years with his merciless sword path suddenly begin to ache.

He Wuju, Demon King of the Three Realms. Legend says he is violent and bloodthirsty, and that he raised his spirit wolf, Chi Lang, by feeding it the hearts of beautiful people.

Even after He Wuju spends five hundred years in seclusion, his wicked reputation is still enough to stop children from crying.
