The Spring Breeze Turns to Rain

Curly-Haired, Artsy Documentary Director (Female) x Long-Haired, Cool and Reserved Gu Embroidery Heritage Bearer (Male)

Fang Weizhao noticed Lin Huaixu because she needed someone to ride on the coattails of for a little publicity.

In the video, Lin Huaixu had long black hair and wore a plain-colored robe with wide sleeves. His elegant figure looked as if he had stepped out of an old book or painting, yet he held an embroidery needle and stitched an exquisite picture.

He was just the kind of man who came with a story attached.

So Fang Weizhao brought her team over mountains and rivers, hauling heavy cameras into the hills.

When Lin Huaixu looked at her with clear reluctance, she said calmly, "Don't worry. You're not the subject of the documentary. Gu embroidery is."

And so she stayed on the mountain for a long time.

She watched the tender shoots of early spring grow, the forest change from pale green to deep green, and Lin Huaixu embroider day after day, hoping more people would learn about Gu embroidery and come to love it.

She also watched...

A seed take root in her heart and quietly begin to sprout, though she never knew when it had been planted.

But filming always comes to an end. On the day she was to leave, a light rain fell over the mountain. Mist rose through the forest like something out of a fairyland.

Lin Huaixu gently caught her by the wrist and asked softly,

"Could you take me with you?"

So many things find their way into our hearts little by little, without us even noticing.

The spring breeze turns to rain, nourishing all things in silence.

Like our works,

like you and me.
