Xingtong, an unknown creature, disguises himself as a human and lives in a small town. The townspeople love one another, and the town is peaceful and harmonious. Then one day, a black fog shrouds the place, and everything begins to grow strange and uncanny. Amid the smell of baking bread, he is turned into a grafted snake-man. Beneath the dazzling crystal lights, pearls take root inside him. In a decaying auction warehouse, a blob of slime burrows into his body... There's nothing for it. He can only ask the town's "Officer" for help. The Officer is a man, serious and proper. Xingtong used to sneak around under the Officer's watchful eye. This time, he has other ideas. He wants to turn the Officer himself into a specimen, put him in the darkest corner of his home, and make him his most precious collectible. The story leans toward stream of consciousness, with nonlinear narration and a touch of Lovecraftian horror. There is only one setting, a small town where everyone loves one another, so everything happens in different parts of town. The overall style is rather fantastical~ 2. The nonhuman character is the bottom. 3. There is a lot of wildly imaginative content. Combined with the stream-of-consciousness style, it may be hard to follow on the first read.
