Li Wenting transmigrates into the body of a supporting character with the same name in the abruptly discontinued novel Guide to Surviving the Apocalypse, and finds herself in a nightmare from the start.
Endless days and nights, wildly fluctuating temperatures, corrosive acid rain, earthquakes, fires, floods, parasites, mutated species...
Worse still, the original owner's track record is as follows:
In the original story, cannon fodder Li Wenting trusts her family and, while fleeing, takes a bite meant for her younger brother. After becoming infected with the zombie virus, her family abandons her.
She steals a packet of instant noodles from the heroine, Mu Tianchen, and offends the heroine, who has an Apocalypse infrastructure-building System.
Unwilling to give it back, Li Wenting struggles with the male lead, Li Lanzhou, and gets her short life ended with a single gunshot. He has awakened the most powerful ability in the whole book.
She appears for only a few short chapters. Li Wenting becomes her family's punching bag, a catalyst for the leads' romance, and a disposable tool who gives the heroine a System-assigned kill mission KPI. She's the ultimate stepping stone.
Later in the novel, the male and female leads slowly rebuild society with the help of the System and their abilities, develop a genetic drug that suppresses mutated species, and ease the Apocalypse crisis.
Her parents and her ability-awakened younger brother live off the safety zone, doing nothing and waiting to die.
After the original Li Wenting is shot, zombies devour her body. Nobody remembers her.
Li Wenting: I want to take everything back. Where's my golden finger?
The plot responds: It's here, it's here. You can mimic the scent of mutated species and disguise yourself as a zombie or other nonhuman mutated creature. It's unstable, so you'll need to learn to control it.
Li Wenting: If the protagonists identify me as a nonhuman monster, how is that any different from offering them a free kill?
It's fine. She's transmigrated into a book and knows some of the plot.
Stock up on supplies, hide somewhere safe, and lie low.
Plans never keep up with changes. When Li Wenting wakes up in the book, she's holding a packet of instant noodles in a red X-Shifu wrapper.
This time, Li Wenting returns the noodles, gets on her knees, and begs for mercy. The temporary squad, led by Mu Li, identifies her as a dangerous person who's lost control and exiles her to a future danger zone designated by Mu Tianchen's System, leaving her to fend for herself.
The extreme danger zone has a zero survival rate, unpredictable weather, complex terrain, and frequent sightings of mutated species.
Order is collapsing, enemies are being made, and her body is growing dangerously cold.
When the male and female leads return to the forbidden zone, Li Wenting disguises herself as a high-level evolved mutated creature. Wounded and captured, she's taken back to the safety zone and locked up in a laboratory.
A week later, all the top officials in the safety zone receive a message through the network system:
"Noah's Ark" Safety Zone, your true leader has arrived!
Daily life in the forbidden zone:
Li Wenting, drawing crosses on the list of enemies on the ground: I'll clear a path through the mountains and bridge the rivers. I really want to (wipe out) you all in the forbidden zone.

Is it because I read too fast or because I don't have enough IQ? There are some transitions in some places. I don't really understand.
I feel like I don't understand what's written.
I only read the first world, and I felt that the writing was too messy, with the preface and the follower not matching up.
