This is the story of several ordinary people, with Qin Lin and Du Chengyu at its heart. Du Chengyu is a warmhearted man who is dependable, responsible, and grateful. He and Qin Lin, a gentle, kindhearted country girl, are childhood sweethearts. They should have naturally ended up together as adults, but after Qin Lin's mother died of an illness, Qin Lin and her younger siblings moved with their father to settle at Haiwan Farm, leaving her and Du Chengyu far apart. Just before Du Chengyu was due to graduate from university, an accident took his memory, and the two lost contact. From there unfolds a story of joy and sorrow, partings and reunions, between Qin Lin and Du Chengyu.
The story also features Yang Shen, a coldhearted and ungrateful cousin's husband; Zheng Hao, who lacks a sense of duty and responsibility; Zhu Lingjun, Qin Lin's spirited and forthright high school classmate; and Yu Chang, who is selfish and domineering. Each pursues marital happiness in their own way. Then there are Qin Yao and Li Darui, who quietly stay by each other's side. They argue, but can always be understanding and accepting of one another.
Theme: A tribute to kindness and responsibility.
