Zhang Buyu is a proper demonic cultivator. He has always worked hard at all kinds of part-time jobs to make money, so he can buy demonic cores from those wicked immortal cultivators and practice his art.
But the immortal cultivators keep raising the price of their demonic cores. Life is hard, and the demonic cultivator can only sigh.
One day, Zhang Buyu gets bound to a livestreaming System, and his life becomes impossible to control.
He goes out to deliver food and meets a strange auntie, who tells him, “Young man, Auntie has a little money.”
Zhang Buyu replies without expression, “Auntie, you've got a little problem.”
The livestream chat is rolling with laughter. The next moment, he swings his sword and slashes. A black shadow emerges from the auntie's body, leaving both the viewers and the auntie stunned.
He works as an NPC in a haunted house, and the players keep screaming that the ghosts are real. A coworker eyes Zhang Buyu, who's dutifully staying at his post, and says ominously, “You sure take your job seriously.”
Zhang Buyu replies, “You're pretty convincing yourself.”
The livestream audience trembles in fear, the comments flooding with warnings that there's a ghost behind the streamer. The next moment, Zhang Buyu grabs the ghost and chokes it to death.
Viewers: Holy crap, streamer, was that a real ghost? Mom, ghosts really exist!!
Zhang Buyu: No, it's special effects.
Then he turns around and flies thousands of miles on his sword to deliver a package, livestreaming the whole thing and shocking the world.
People can't understand why Zhang Buyu works so many part-time jobs. He answers as if it's obvious: “To buy demonic cores from the immortal cultivators.”
Then Zhang Buyu picks up an immortal cultivator prince.
He never has to work for money to buy demonic cores again, because the prince keeps him.
The prince smiles. “There, take your time. There's plenty of demonic cores to go around.”
The livestreaming System sobs along with the other Systems. “Host, please livestream again! We're all out of food!”
A proper demonic cultivator streamer, gong * a gorgeous immortal cultivator prince, shou
Reader's guide:
1. Lots of original worldbuilding. It's similar to a modern setting, but not quite, so don't take it too seriously.
2. Demonic and immortal cultivators don't represent good and evil. They simply have different cultivation systems.
3. The gong and shou dote on each other, with a slight emphasis on the gong. Not recommended for readers with strong gong- or shou-centric preferences.
