A certain Earthling accidentally transmigrates into a novel as a minor insectoid character. By a twist of fate, he becomes good friends with a cannon-fodder villain, and they enjoy gossiping about the novel's protagonist together. In the end, his good friend boldly confesses, and he agrees to date him in a daze. (A short story.) [This is a sweet romance.]

From the gong's perspective
[I'm terrible at coming up with names and really couldn't think of anything.]
One day, An Qi transmigrates to another world. A different world, a different species, and different cultures and systems. Oh wow, what a thrill!
The shock of clashing worldviews also leads him to discover that this is the insectoid world from a novel he'd read before.
An unexpected demand that he get married leaves An Qi no time to dodge. But when he thinks of the protagonists' sweet romance and the chance to ship them in person, he instantly stops feeling sad. Now this is interesting!
He laughs up at the sky for three minutes. I'm here, baby! My favorite canon couple, hahahaha!
As for getting married in a year, what's that supposed to mean? Don't get in the way of me shipping them! An Qi sends it flying with a spinning kick. Get lost.
His like-minded good friend and lifesaving insectoid, his partner in crime, is Tu Zi, an insectoid who's afraid of marriage and just as passionate about shipping couples. He's so excited to talk about the novel's pairings that he forgets he's a male insectoid.
Besides, you need fellow fans to ship couples with. If there's no one to share it with, it's no fun at all.
And so, the two good brothers never looked back as they charged down the road of shipping couples~
From the shou's perspective
I saved a female insectoid. Well, he's kind of weak. Is he impotent?
Hey! This female insectoid is a novel fan just like me! Hahaha, fellow book lover, don't go! We're definitely becoming friends!
Ah, yeah, yeah, yeah, he's a male insectoid... Holy crap (;`O?)o, you scared the life out of me! I, I even put my arm around him, and we even bathed together, sob sob sob. What do I do?
Whatever, he's afraid of marriage too, so I can relax. Let's go ship couples together. Who cares about gender?
He's getting married. That's right, he's a male insectoid. How could he not get married? But, but... But what? Damn it, this is so frustrating. I don't know why, but I feel empty inside.
A strong, outwardly cold but inwardly warm shou, and an excitable, outgoing gong who enjoys stirring up trouble.
The shou is afraid of marriage, so he's slow to catch on to what they mean to each other. The gong is more proactive, though the shou will take the initiative later.
[Please read this important note!]
As usual, the warnings are similar to those for "Am I Really Not Good Enough for the Female Lord?"
1: No golden finger (unless you count the gong knowing the plot because he read the novel).
2: The gong isn't very weak, but he isn't very strong either (this isn't a strong x strong story).
