The Siren's Blessing

Alena's dream is to spend her retirement savings in Jasmine Town and enjoy the rest of her life. But things don't go as planned. Darren, passing through town, schemes against her, and the two of them are blessed by a sea demon. They have to stay sweet and loving together for a year before they can break up.

Her troublemaking friend Snake tricks Alena into going to Moonlight Island to get married, then clings to her and cries for his mother. Alena decides not to turn him into mermaid jerky, since the price is fair.

When her ex-husband Theodore shows up at her door, gripping his pet bird by the neck, Alena is being fed by Darren. With a table full of delicacies and fine wine before her, she looks up with tears in her eyes and explains,

"I just didn't want it to go to waste, really. It's not because I was tempted by his money and good looks."

"Caw, caw, caw, caw!"

Her pet bird laughs without the slightest regard for her feelings.

Alena looks at Darren guiltily. They were each other's first love, and Darren had waited for her all these years, but she'd already been married twice.

What's it like when your current husband, your ex-husband, and your other ex-husband all get together? Right now, Alena feels like her whole body is screaming.

The villains' schemes, love in small but choice doses, and a cast of calculating people who all hide their true nature.

The story's protagonists, seen from the perspective of its villains.
