After Becoming the Life-Sustaining Ginseng for the Sickly Villain

Please bookmark my new story, After Being Sold to a Hunter Said to Bring Death to His Wives. The blurb is below (heart~?)

Yun Shen, a seasoned 996 office worker, died suddenly, just as expected. But when he opened his eyes again, he found himself buried in dark soil, transformed into a ginseng spirit.

To cultivate a human form as quickly as possible, he stretched his body with all his might. At long last, he grew a few tender leaves, but before he could absorb any sunlight, someone yanked him up by the roots.

The person who pulled him out was shrouded in a dying man's sickly aura, yet looked as bright and ethereal as an immortal. The words he spoke, however, made the ginseng spirit tremble.

“A thousand-year-old ginseng spirit? Perfect. I'll boil you for medicine.”

Frightened out of his wits, Yun Shen offered up his little ginseng roots on the spot. “Don't eat me! I'll give you all my little roots to steep in liquor!”

.

Only after being taken away did Yun Shen learn that he'd ended up inside a cultivation novel, and the man who had uprooted him was the story's greatest villain.

To stay alive, Yun Shen had to become a hardworking ginseng spirit again, giving the villain a root to steep in tea every day. From time to time, he even had to soak himself in liquor until he was dizzy, just to make the villain medicinal wine.

After barely managing to survive long enough to take human form, Yun Shen was dunked into a bath.

Confused, Yun Shen: “???”

Afterward, Yun Shen bit the quilt and cried, “No, no, that's not how you're supposed to treat an illness.”

The villain pinched the little green leaf that had sprouted from Yun Shen's head in anger. “That's exactly how you treat an illness.”

.

The villain treated him that way once, but it wasn't enough. He had to treat him that way every single day.

One day, Yun Shen discovered that a little red flower had bloomed on his true form, with a tiny ginseng seed hidden inside.

Yun Shen was so frightened that he hid the seed on the spot. Every day, he trembled with worry over how to keep it a secret.

Just as he was about to come clean, he overheard one of the villain's friends say, “I hear you have a thousand-year-old ginseng. Why not give it to me? I'll trade you a small world for it.”

The villain replied nonchalantly, “Sure.”

Yun Shen didn't want to die or be sliced up for parts, so he turned around, packed his bags, and ran.

The villain, ready to cuddle up with his soft, cuddly wife that night: “??? Where's my wife? He was right here!”

A silly, sweet little ginseng spirit who looks like a delicate beauty × A ruthless, scheming villain

After Being Sold to a Hunter Said to Bring Death to His Wives

Zhou Yan was tall and burly, with a handsome face and excellent hunting skills. He would have been an ideal husband anywhere, except he was notorious throughout the neighboring villages for supposedly bringing death to his wives.

His first fiancée drowned in an accident just days after their betrothal gifts were exchanged. His second fiancée was bitten by a rabid dog the day after they met, contracted rabies, and died.

One coincidence after another gave him a reputation as a wife-killer. No family with a daughter or son of marriageable age dared discuss a match with his family.

With marriage nowhere in sight and the prospect of ending up an old bachelor looming, the matchmaker gave his mother a rotten suggestion: buy a husband and bring him home.

Zhou Yan had refused at first, but when he met his purchased husband's timid, tear-filled eyes, he somehow found himself agreeing.

.

An Ruan's father had never cared for him, and his mother died when he was young. He was tormented every day by his stepmother, and years of malnutrition had left him short and dark-skinned. With his quiet, timid nature, he had reached marriageable age without a single proposal.

His stepmother grew even more hostile, treating him like a worthless burden and beating and scolding him.

An Ruan had thought this was just how his life would be, but then his stepmother sold him for ten taels of silver to a hunter from the neighboring village, a man famous for bringing death to his wives.

He'd heard that the hunter wasn't just a wife-killer but had a violent temper and beat his wives and husbands. Terrified, An Ruan spent his days in anxious dread, but didn't dare run away. With tears in his eyes, he was sent to the hunter's home.

He prepared himself for a lifetime of beatings and hunger. But instead, he was neither beaten nor starved. His hunter husband cherished and doted on him, holding him in the palm of his hand until he grew fair and plump, and his life got better with every passing day.
