Chen Fei is the original heroine of a transmigration-into-a-book story about a supporting female character turning her life around.
She's beautiful, "pure" (naive) and "innocent" (stupid), the classic fragile little white flower. She has an overbearing CEO brother who dotes on his little sister, a sinister movie-star fiancé, a top-student childhood friend who's sweet on the outside and calculating underneath... Everyone is infatuated with and protective of her.
Naturally, all of that goes up in smoke when the transmigrated supporting female character arrives.
The day her memories awaken, Chen Fei has already been working as a server at an upscale Western restaurant for two months.
She thinks her life is pretty good now. Sure, she's lost her heroine's halo, but at least she's no longer a fragile little white flower.
After her evening shift, Chen Fei is alone at the bus stop.
A light rain blows in and dampens her clothes. An umbrella opens above her head. Chen Fei turns around and meets a pair of intensely predatory eyes.
It's an interactive ad for an otome game company, set up at the bus stop. The umbrella above her has opened automatically after she triggered the mechanism, and the eyes she's looking into belong to the otome game's male lead on the screen.
From the memories that awakened in her, Chen Fei knows that this otome game character will ultimately be cut and won't appear when the game launches, because the transmigrated supporting female character is too fond of him, making the other male leads jealous.
Both of them are characters about to be "erased," and she'd borrowed his umbrella to keep out of the rain.
Chen Fei has a doll made to look just like the otome game's male lead and keeps it at home.
"This way, you won't be erased completely." Chen Fei pats the doll's head.
What happens next unfolds just as Chen Fei knows it will: the otome game's male lead gets cut, and the other male leads engage in a spectacular love rivalry over the transmigrated supporting female character. Meanwhile, she, the "heroine," is perfectly happy to quietly live her "NPC life" in a corner of the city.
It's after her evening shift again, and a light rain is falling from the sky.
Several male leads block the entrance to the Western restaurant, asking the transmigrated supporting female character which of them she'll go home with.
She looks up and is surprised to see Chen Fei just coming off her shift. "Chen Fei?"
Chen Fei gives a slight nod and silently walks past several old acquaintances on her way out. As she passes them, her hair sways lightly, and the elegant uniform of the upscale Western restaurant outlines her waist. She's beautiful and independent.
Chen Fei has no idea how irresistibly attractive the weary, cool gaze of a little white flower who has found her own strength can be.
Thump, thump. The male leads' hearts pound.
"Move." A low, cool male voice.
A tall, handsome man strides past the group and opens an umbrella over Chen Fei's head.
Chen Fei turns around and meets a pair of familiar, intensely predatory eyes.
The otome game's male lead who got cut?
The man gives the others a warning look and leads Chen Fei away with an arm around her.
What Chen Fei hasn't awakened to is that the dangerous otome game's male lead has arrived, and her own harem story is only just beginning.
She simply pulls out her phone happily. "You're a new user on Pinduoduo, right?"
