Five years ago, Wen Ziye was a rising star in the music world, all the rage. She had a secret relationship with Lin Miaoyin, an unknown actress, before their abrupt breakup.
Five years later, the tables have turned. Now a minor celebrity, Wen Ziye becomes the MC of a livestream show and is assigned to interview Lin Miaoyin, a newly crowned Best Actress.
Lin Miaoyin is like a clear autumn stream. She looks gentle, but is changeable and hard to read. The director is overjoyed that she agreed to the interview and tells Wen Ziye to seize the opportunity. It's their show's chance to turn things around, and Wen Ziye's chance to make a comeback.
Thinking of how coldheartedly she ended things back then, Wen Ziye feels a pang in her chest. She doesn't want to give up this last chance, though, so she can only steel herself and knock on the door that represents all her fear and guilt.
The door opens. The pale girl from the past is now elegant and composed. A faint smile curves her lips, and her gaze is like a frigid pool in late autumn, piercing Wen Ziye's disguise at once.
"So you finally learned to come find me?" she says with a soft laugh, her gaze passing over Wen Ziye's suddenly ashen face. Her words are cold to the bone, with a double meaning: "My place wasn't easy to find, was it? You must have had a hard time."
In front of the livestream cameras, she is a gracious, impeccable Best Actress, perfectly polite to Wen Ziye.
Out of the cameras' sight, her fingertips flick like a snake's tongue. "You ran away so fast back then. Why aren't you running now?"
Wen Ziye thinks their reunion is a chance to atone, never realizing it's an exquisitely crafted cage.
Lin Miaoyin also believes five years of resentment have built a wall high enough to keep all affection out. But when Wen Ziye instinctively shields her during a livestream mishap, when that familiar warmth draws near...
Lin Miaoyin sadly realizes that her heart still races wildly for Wen Ziye.
Only this time, she will wrap her overwhelming love in a coating of hatred and devour it, little by little.
Are You There? Show Me Your Abs.
Friendly neighborhood police officer x mildly antisocial illustrator living alone
After passing the civil service exam, Ji Zhijie is assigned to work as a neighborhood police officer in Happy Community.
When residents report someone for abusing a cat, Ji Zhijie immediately responds.
She knocks on the door several times, but no one answers. Just as she is about to ask a colleague to check the records, the door suddenly opens. A gloomy woman with long hair stands inside, holding a sharp blade and splattered with blood.
The woman seems highly unstable and might attack someone with the weapon, so Ji Zhijie draws her baton.
"Step back! I'll count to three. Put down your weapon!"
*
Shang Jia feels terribly unlucky.
She keeps running into the new neighborhood police officer.
First, the officer came to her home for a visit and knocked her unconscious with a baton, suspecting her of attacking someone with a knife. Then, when she couldn't sleep and wandered through the park late at night, she got thrown over someone's shoulder. Finally, she was watching the couple across the way argue from her balcony when the officer showed up to check her household registration.
After that, Shang Jia tries to avoid the jinx whenever she sees her, but Ji Zhijie sticks to her like glue.
Ji Zhijie stands in her neat police uniform. Seeing a familiar face, she flashes a lovely row of white teeth.
"Hey, dear, have you downloaded the National Anti-Fraud app?"
*
Shang Jia doesn't want to deal with her, but somehow, after one thing leads to another, she's stuck with her. To get rid of the nuisance, Shang Jia makes a demanding offer:
"I can be your informant, but you have to be my life-drawing model."
Ji Zhijie is delighted that Shang Jia has finally agreed, grinning from ear to ear.
"Sure! I've got an eight-pack."
Later, as Ji Zhijie works overtime late into the night, her phone lights up.
Shang Jia: You there? Show me your abs.
You Think You're Good Enough to Be My Gaming Companion?
Airheaded athlete x hot-tempered young lady
Ji Qingcheng falls in love with the woman who hires her by the month. She is the only light in Ji Qingcheng's otherwise dim life.
Ji Qingcheng comes from a poor family and can't afford an expensive pair of running shoes.
She's not very bright and has nothing but brute strength, so she was recommended for sports school.
But she never manages to get results, and she's poor, so Ji Qingcheng often goes hungry.
One day, she sees a teammate hiring a gaming companion and gets an idea.
She plays that game too, and everyone says she has a nice voice.
She may not be skilled enough to be a streamer, but she could make a decent entertainment companion.
The first client who doesn't mind her lack of skill is also the person who later hires her by the month.
The client is beautiful, swears like a sailor, and gives generous bonuses for every win.
Ji Qingcheng gradually falls for her, but her client is straight.
Ji Qingcheng is miserable. Without a word, she cancels the client's new order.
She's fallen in love.
She won't work as a gaming companion anymore.
Client: Are you crazy? You don't want to make money?
Ji Qingcheng: I have a competition coming up, so I'm not taking any more orders as a gaming companion.
Client: What about after that?
Ji Qingcheng: I won't take any more.
After a while...
Client: Is there something wrong with your head? With your skills, who else would hire you by the month besides me? You can't just quit without even thinking about how I feel!
Ji Qingcheng isn't sure what to make of it, so she tests the waters. "Boss, I really do need to train. Why don't you find someone else?"
Client: You blockhead! Say that one more time, I dare you!
Threatened by her client, Ji Qingcheng quietly shuts up.
Client: Fine. Don't take any new orders for now. Give me your address.
Ji Qingcheng: Boss, are you going to come kill me in person? You can't beat me.
The client is so exasperated she can't reply for ages. Then she finally says: "Idiot. I'm coming to support you at your competition!"
Later, after finally winning the girl of her dreams, Ji Qingcheng becomes a devoted wife, posting lovey-dovey updates every day and making all her friends envious.
Her friends ask her how she won the heart of a straight girl, since everyone in the lesbian community knows straight girls are the ones you should never mess with.
Ji Qingcheng scratches her head. "Well, I wasn't a good gaming companion, so my client came to kill me in person. Then we fell for each other."
Her friends all reply: "Yeah, right!"
Theme: Walking side by side for love, with both hearts moving toward each other.
Didn't Lin hold up the album and say he likes wild songs? How come no one knows. What about the tax consequences? I just replied anyway, at least make a statement. Are you really not going to clarify the misunderstanding about the ban? [Question Mark] But the writing is still very good 🌈
Tsk tsk tsk, when I read the title, I didn't think it was related to the stage at all.
Happy birthday!! I'm looking forward to what's coming next [EYE][EYE]
Did you do it on purpose? [Orange Candy] got [Purple Candy] kswl
Isn't it a room for five people? This is already six people
It seems like no one thought of it, but Chaohua has already been built.
"Lin Miaoyin stayed up for a few late nights..." This is a big bug for the author~ Big night [comparison]
