Jiang Yuanzhen was truly a clematis vine that had cultivated itself into a spirit: pure, delicate, and utterly captivating.
Many years ago, she was bound by a System and forced to travel through various worlds, constantly courting disaster as she played the despised villainess.
But one day, the System broke down...
And then...
The plot went completely off the rails.
In the first world, Jiang Yuanzhen was a country girl who swapped lives with the wealthy young male lead on the reality show Life Swap. She was selfish and greedy, and lied compulsively.
According to the original plot, the show would gradually draw her into a life of upper-class excess. She would lose sight of who she was, believing that if she ingratiated herself with her new family, she could escape her poverty and become a princess overnight.
But the rich parents despised her for forgetting her roots, and sent her back to the village as soon as filming ended.
Having experienced life among the wealthy, Jiang Yuanzhen couldn't wake from her glamorous dream. Unable to accept the huge gap between fantasy and reality, she jumped off a cliff after failing the college entrance exam and died.
But after the plot went off the rails, Jiang Yuanzhen became the darling of both families. The male lead fancied himself her knight in shining armor and treated her with tenderness. Even the kind-faced but ruthless male supporting character turned gentle as putty around her.
In the second world, Jiang Yuanzhen was the youngest daughter of a wealthy merchant, born with a congenital eye condition. Her parents took in and supported a distant cousin who was barely related to them, intending to hold his debt of gratitude over him so that, once successful, he would marry Jiang Yuanzhen and care for her for the rest of her life.
According to the original plot, after her parents died, Jiang Yuanzhen would cling desperately to her cousin, who had risen to the highest ranks of the court, and use all sorts of underhanded tactics against the woman he loved. When he found out, he would imprison her in a secluded manor, where she would take her own life.
But after the plot went off the rails, suitors were lining up at the door, and her parents couldn't even decide who to marry her off to.
In the third world, Jiang Yuanzhen was a vain gold-digging green tea in a full-dive online game. She went with whoever had the most money.
According to the original plot, the male lead would pretend to be poor and expose her vanity and love of money. Then, after learning his real background, she would become a shameless doormat everyone despised.
But after the plot went off the rails, powerful men all sought out Jiang Yuanzhen, competing to show off their wealth and win her over.
In the fourth world, Jiang Yuanzhen was a vicious sidekick at an elite school, helping the villainess do evil and spending her days throwing her weight around.
According to the original plot, the male and female leads would be drawn to each other as they clashed. After they got together, Jiang Yuanzhen, the cannon-fodder character who had bullied the heroine most, would be discarded and go from tormentor to victim.
But after the plot went off the rails, the male lead turned around and locked her in the equipment room. Jiang Yuanzhen was tormented mercilessly, but not in the way she'd expected.
In the fifth world, Jiang Yuanzhen was the daughter of a housekeeper. She came from an ordinary background, but was proud and ambitious, determined to marry into a wealthy family.
According to the original plot, she would use a fake heiress persona to sneak into the upper-class social circle of her dreams. But she wouldn't land a rich husband. Instead, her identity would be exposed, and she would become a low-class gold digger everyone mocked.
But after the plot went off the rails, the privileged young men who looked down on everyone else surrounded her, all desperate for a single glance from her.
In the sixth world, Jiang Yuanzhen was a low-ranking member of the demonic cult who had claimed to be the male lead's savior, shamelessly using the favor to get what she wanted.
According to the original plot, Jiang Yuanzhen's interference would set the male and female leads against each other in a tragic romance full of love and hate, separation and death. When the truth came out, the male lead would turn evil overnight, and the righteous gentleman would go mad and become a demon. Jiang Yuanzhen would be tortured for three days and three nights, cut a thousand times, before finally dying.
But after the plot went off the rails, the male lead went mad and became a demon too, only this time because he couldn't have her.
In the seventh world, Jiang Yuanzhen was a hypocritical, status-conscious school beauty. When the apocalypse struck, her fiancé was unexpectedly bitten and developed a high fever. Jiang Yuanzhen immediately threw herself into someone else's arms.
According to the original plot, the delicate and vulnerable Jiang Yuanzhen would encounter a zombie horde on the way to a base. With no one to save her, she would die in the jaws of the zombies.
But after the plot went off the rails, the proud male leads and male supporting characters willingly became her bodyguards, terrified that she might get hurt.
The eighth world...
