The Uncanny Invasion

In her dream, Wen Jing had just heroically vanquished a greasy male ghost. The next second, she opened her eyes and realized she seemed to have woken up in another world.

And an extremely strange and bizarre one at that.

Her Painted-Skin Ghost mother showed her a closet full of "fur coats" and looked disdainfully at her pajamas. "You're a grown ghost now. Have some standards."

Her blue-faced, fanged father tossed her some hell money. "Go buy some candles to eat. I'm off to clock in at the underworld, so I can't cook for you."

The pretty neighbor she ran into outside the door had seductive eyes and a graceful figure. Wen Jing thought the dream was finally taking a more normal turn.

Then she saw the neighbor pluck out her own eyeballs and put them in Wen Jing's hand. With two bloody sockets in place of eyes, she gave Wen Jing a disdainful glance. "Here, take them. So what if I grabbed this limited-edition pair of eyeballs before you? Are you really going to hold a grudge this long? Now you're even pretending not to know me."

Wen Jing looked at the limited-edition eyeballs in her hand, then gazed out at the world beyond the corridor.

A blood-red moon hung in the sky. A gloomy wind howled, and the creatures here didn't walk when they went out. They floated.

Below was a dark, unfathomable River of the Dead.

Wen Jing pinched herself, but felt no pain at all.

A headless figure carrying its own head hurried past at the end of the corridor and knocked Wen Jing over the railing

Then she realized she might... actually be able to fly?
