What's it like to be forced to write a Cthulhu Mythos paper in the Detective Conan world?

Lin Yuanjing: Thanks for asking. I'm in Beika, just got off the plane.

Lin Yuanjing: Then the wine cellar came barreling at me in a dump truck.

As an Yithian with excellent experience in mental exchanges, and a transmigrator whose previous life was spent as a shut-in Detective Conan fan, she'd gone undercover in the Mafia and exorcised spirits at a jujutsu school. Every time, she'd resolved the incident perfectly.

But this time, the incident was trying to resolve her.

A murder suspect suddenly transformed, his face turning hideous. In the wine cellar, something lurked in the dark corners, waiting to strike. A game of Noah's Ark led children to a place from their dreams. The signature on a phantom thief's mysterious calling card was replaced by a crest bearing three curled tentacles.

Lin Yuanjing: Wait, that's not how the original story goes!

As the only person who knew the Detective Conan plot, Lin Yuanjing decided to turn the tide on the verge of this world's collapse.

So she opened an agency with a partner in Beika, went undercover at the wine cellar headquarters, slid in to save the police academy group, and brought Ran, who'd drifted outside the main plot, back to the heart of the good guys' side.

By the time she'd changed her secret identity again and again, working at the front lines to balance detective logic and cosmic horror, and had become adept at wrapping up Lovecraftian incidents with countless spells at her disposal, she realized that every one of the twelve volumes of the main story featured her.

Lin Yuanjing: I think my original goal was to write a paper.

Lin Yuanjing: I guess I can submit it now.

And so, a detailed, thoroughly cited paper on the Cthulhu Mythos was placed on a professor's desk at Miskatonic University.

The professors in the Department of the Occult were in an uproar.

1. A female-led Detective Conan and cosmic horror story, written to satisfy my own cravings. Romance is only mentioned to clarify her orientation, and won't begin until the middle or later part of the story.

2. Slow burn, plot-focused, but the heroine has a golden finger.

3. I'm a fan of the whole cast. Since I'm likely to make the male characters out of character when writing romance, the heroine won't be paired with anyone from Detective Conan. She'll have platonic relationships with the Detective Conan cast, and an original character as her love interest.

4. As mentioned above, there will be an original male lead, but he won't steal the spotlight from any original character or the heroine. He's just a plot device for introducing the Cthulhu Mythos and a character to torment.

5. There may be some scenes with only original characters and no original cast members (? )...

6. This only crosses over the Detective Conan and Cthulhu Mythos settings. It's my take on cosmic horror, focused on eldritch gods gathering in Beika and a cast of people with iron wills (otherwise they'd have gone mad long ago).
