When a Volleyball Fool Falls into a Love Trap

▎Complete. Thank you for supporting the official release! Next story: "Are You Playing Volleyball or Dating? [Haikyuu!!]", featuring Miya Atsumu ▎Blurb: My name is Nekomata Kaba, and I'm a first-year student at Tokyo's private Nekoma High School. I'm good at archery. I should have naturally joined the archery club and enjoyed three wonderful years of high school. Until my club application ended up in the hands of the volleyball team. And my grandfather, Nekomata Ikushi, is the notorious demon coach of the volleyball team. To be honest, I have no way out. I can't escape the fate of joining the volleyball team, but I can slack off. If I slack off enough, no challenge will be able to stop me. But I found someone on the volleyball team who slacks off even more than I do. The setter known as the "brain." My second-year senior, Kozume Kenma. I worked diligently and respected my elders. While trying to play the invisible nobody on the volleyball team, I learned to mop the floor from every angle. But this slacker was always watching me without saying a word, like a cat that had spotted a mouse. It was terrifying. Then, one day, after the final match ended, he pulled me alone into a secluded corner of the locker room. He buried his face against my shoulder. His warm breath brushed my neck. His faded, bleached hair felt a little rough, tickling my skin. He lifted his tightly narrowed, beastlike eyes and stared fixedly at me. He didn't say a thing, but going by my first instinct, he might want to eat me. ▎Blurb first posted: 2023.5.18 A socially anxious person who seems indifferent but has a rich inner world, always ready with a sarcastic remark, paired with a slow-witted blockhead with an unusual train of thought and a half-natural, straightforward pretty boy. The pairing is set: Kozume Kenma. ▎Before You Read: 1. Lots of out-of-character characterizations and personal headcanons. A sweet little romance. 2. Everyday slice of life told like a diary, slow pacing, meandering plot, and lots of sarcastic commentary. Read at your own discretion. 3. Serious character stupidity, poor logic, no unsolicited writing advice. I'm not a canon researcher, so don't nitpick details. 4. The cover is a template purchased from a designer. Story 1: "My Rival Oikawa Tooru Confessed to Me?!!" Featuring Oikawa Tooru A handsome, sunny, slightly sadistic pretty boy with golden-retriever energy x a slightly masochistic, cross-dressing, tsundere landmine of a boy with gloomy energy ▎Blurb: My name is Wagatsuma Kohaku, I'm 17, male, and a third-year at Aoba Johsai High School. By day, I'm a diligent, hardworking, well-behaved model student. By night, I'm Gasaiki a~☆, one of Insta's top three most popular underground cross-dressing streamers. Cute and charming really are the most popular things~ But! I have a nemesis, my classmate Oikawa Tooru. I'll admit he's pretty handsome, and his personality is just average. He's the captain of the volleyball team, but... how dare he be even more popular than me? Damn it! And on top of that, he even got my name and gender wrong, dismissing all my efforts over the years with a laugh. I just can't understand him! It's completely incomprehensible! I've decided he's the person I hate most in the whole world. Someday, I'll make that frivolous guy admit out loud that I'm the most popular No. 1, then bow down to me in tears! But that doesn't mean I want to get exposed in front of him! My nemesis and my number-one recommended streamer being the same person... that's just cheating, isn't it?! "So, Kohaku, you don't want anyone to find out about your little habit of dressing up as a girl in secret, do you? Hmm? Gasaiki-chan~" Damn it, he's a brunette, so why does he keep saying such blond things? Wagatsuma Kohaku, third-year at Aoba Johsai High School. The one person I can't stand (in the past) and my love interest (now), Oikawa Tooru. We're officially dating now☆~ ▎Upcoming Haikyuu!! Story 2: "Are You Playing Volleyball or Dating?" Featuring Miya Atsumu A black-hearted-on-the-inside (but pure-hearted-on-the-inside) court demon king and off-court arctic hare x an immature, mean-spirited, possessive, max-level-S golden fox ▎Blurb: Shiraki Yusei suffered severe psychological abuse and school bullying throughout all three years of junior high. To escape the trauma, he chose to enroll at Inarizaki, far away in Kansai. But the foxes, the very best at spotting hidden talent, found him anyway. When he first joined the team, he was practically covered in debuffs: timid, slow to react, cowardly, afraid to speak loudly, and prone to looking over with teary eyes, pitiful as can be. But after a brief training period and some love from the foxes, he was like an unpolished jade stone, brushed clean and carefully carved. Once he stepped onto the court, his natural physical gifts, sharp instincts, and incredible reach made him exceptional. And then there was his strength. Strong enough that almost no one could stop his powerful spikes. Also known as "The Libero's Nightmare" and "First-Receive Killer." After the match, the opposing team's players watched Inarizaki in silence. The violent demon king on the court had barely stepped off before running over to the golden-haired setter on the other side, sobbing and begging for comfort. Shiraki Yusei: "Sorry, Senior Atsumu, I'm so sorry, I'm so sorry. I didn't mean to mess up that last spike. I didn't even hit it on the right trajectory, and I barely scored a point. I swear I won't do it again. Senior, please set the ball for me again. I promise I won't make that mistake..." Miya Atsumu: "Are you an idiot, Yusei?" The blond setter drew out his words, his lazy tone tinged with exasperation. Then, he curled his lip and bared his teeth at the opponents watching from the other side of the net. "I told you, you've got a genius setter like me." "All you have to do is keep spiking." After the match, according to an incomplete report from a certain field reporter, shadows overlapped in a secluded corner of the locker room. The arctic hare, clutching someone's clothes tightly and full of barely perceptible anticipation, asked timidly, "Um, um... We won the match. Senior Atsumu, will you give me a reward?" A low male voice answered with the faintest hint of a smile. "So... you want another kiss, Yusei?" "Y-yes!" "Because... I really like you, Senior Atsumu, so..." "Mwah!" "Good boy."
