How Should a Sword Spirit Win Over a Villainous Immortal Lord?

Yu Ruoshui transmigrated into a book.

System: Eliminate the villainous immortal lord Xie Xueyan's corruption value, and you can revive with one click.

Yu Ruoshui: Okay, got it. A redemption story. Am I the wicked second female lead or a cannon-fodder supporting character?

System: You're a sword.

Yu Ruoshui: ?

So here's the question.

How is a sword supposed to eliminate someone's corruption value?

Fortunately, the villainous immortal lord Xie Xueyan was still young, and easy to fool.

Yu Ruoshui worked diligently, striving to be the perfect sword spirit.

When the villain got angry, she cut people down.

When he was happy, she rang like a sword.

When he prepared a surprise for the heroine, she diligently dug behind the scenes.

Until one day, the young villain ran into danger.

Thinking of the last bit of corruption value, Yu Ruoshui rushed forward without hesitation.

The sword shattered.

The rain fell hard that day.

Xie Xueyan knelt on the scorched earth. Ignoring the blood covering him, he slowly dug out the broken fragments of the sword with his hands, coaxing softly, "Little Fish, let's go home."

Even though he knew there would never be an answer.

Yu Ruoshui thought she had finished her task and could leave in peace.

She never imagined that her final move would not only fail to clear Xie Xueyan's corruption value, but would instead max it out!

Before she could figure out what had happened, the System sent her back.

The world had changed, and a hundred years had passed.

This time, she was an ordinary outer-sect disciple,

while Xie Xueyan had become an immortal lord beyond the reach of ordinary people.

At a banquet of a hundred immortal sects, amid a sea of people and lively chatter,

their eyes met from afar.

Before Yu Ruoshui could react, the lofty immortal lord suddenly descended from the clouds. Amid a chorus of gasps and envious exclamations, he gripped her wrist tightly.

He chuckled, letting out a satisfied sigh. "...I've caught you."

This time, through mountains of blades and seas of fire, through the highest heavens and deepest hell, I'll be there.

You'll never escape again.

Xie Xueyan had lived a lonely life from beginning to end.

Thankfully, a little sword spirit had always stayed by his side.

But later, she left too.

...It didn't matter.

He would find her.

Xie Xueyan held the sword in his own hands and plunged it into his heart.

Blood streamed down him, yet his eyes curved into a satisfied smile.

-He knew that as long as he became a demon, he would see her again.
