I Became the System That Redeems Villains

After Yu Wan died, she inexplicably became a redemption System. The Main System issued an order: she had to redeem the villain and prevent the world's destruction. If she failed, she would lose her chance to become a full-fledged System and have to enter the cycle of reincarnation again.

Yu Wan: "!"

Enough talk. I'll definitely finish the mission.

But when Yu Wan opened the System interface and took a look at the plot, she immediately went, "..."

The original story was about the protagonist powering up like he had cheats, collecting girls and defeating monsters along the way, then killing the great villain and ascending with all the girls and his minions. But the problem was... the Demon Lord, the great villain who was supposed to be killed by the protagonist, had been killed by a demon cultivator who appeared out of nowhere and took his place.

As a result, no matter how strong the protagonist became, he couldn't beat the villain. In the end, the great villain got bored, killed the protagonist, and destroyed the world, himself included.

Yu Wan shivered.

Just how vicious and terrifying was this great villain?

With the thought that her mission might fail, Yu Wan plunged into the world, ready to bind the villain.

[Ding! Hello, Host. I am...]

Yu Wan immediately faltered, because the great villain was lying miserably on the ground, covered in blood, while demonic beasts lurked nearby, eyeing him hungrily. He was the very picture of a pitiful little waif.

Yu Wan frantically bought a healing bundle from the store, then issued the System mission again: [Dear Host, if you bind yourself to this System, you can enjoy this healing service again.]

The great villain gave a cold laugh. "In your dreams."

Later...

The Demon Lord, dressed in black and lounging on his throne, stared coldly at the round little demonic pet before him and gave a sinister smile. "System, if you don't exchange a human body for me so you can become my Demon Queen, I'll destroy this world."

Yu Wan's eyes filled with tears.

Why has this redemption plan gone so wrong? The great villain still wants to destroy the world!
