Yuan Yi became bound to a system called Today's Gacha System and had to transmigrate to different worlds to save them from disaster.
Each card granted a different ability, and he had to play a role so that the ability could reasonably appear in that world.
Yuan Yi: "Isn't this just role-playing?"
No problem!
World One: The Mutant Apocalypse.
Because humanity had destroyed the environment, polluted rivers, and released carbon dioxide, all life on Blue Star had withered away. Cosmic energy invaded through the barrier, causing every living thing to mutate and bringing about the world's extinction.
Yuan Yi's mission was to repair Blue Star's barrier and teach humanity to care for the environment.
The System looked utterly despairing. "Host, you just drew the [Source of Plants] skill card. Are you seriously going to use it to plant trees on Blue Star for a hundred years?"
Yuan Yi mused, "This skill should work on me too, shouldn't it?"
The System: "???"
One day, Blue Star received an emergency call from someone claiming to be a World Tree tasked with saving the world, asking to cooperate with the country to fight off the extraterrestrial demons.
The police: "??? This guy really is crazy."
But then a gigantic insect over ten meters tall suddenly rampaged through the city, shrugging off even the most powerful weapons. A green-eyed boy easily wrapped it up with vines, then earnestly told the police, "Hello, I'm here to hand myself over to the country."
The police: "!!"
Is he an esper?
Later, when Yuan Yi, whom the country had deemed the world's only esper, transformed into a gigantic tree and casually summoned a whole army of treants to fight the monsters, everyone was completely stunned!
He really was the World Tree!
All of humanity erupted in excitement.
World Two: The Demon Apocalypse.
The Qiling Continent was crawling with demons and monsters, which rampaged through the mortal realm and wrought devastation. Most of the immortals had fallen, leaving the survivors too furious to speak out, and humanity was wiped out completely.
Yuan Yi's mission was to protect humanity and stop the demons and monsters from wreaking havoc in the mortal realm.
The System looked utterly despairing again. "It's over. Host, the card you drew is [Game Character]. You have to kill monsters to get stronger."
Yuan Yi mused, "Don't rush me. Let me shave my head first."
The System: "???"
As a peach blossom demon held the villagers of a mountain village captive for a blood sacrifice, a Buddhist monk in a kasaya slowly approached, holding a demon-subduing staff and looking upon the world with compassion. "Amitabha. You are a demon, yet you wreak havoc in the mortal realm. How regrettable. Allow this humble monk to save you today."
The peach blossom demon: "??? This bald monk really is crazy, huh?"
Yuan Yi watched the health bar above the peach blossom demon's head, secretly attacking while occasionally casting a heal on himself. He slowly ground the demon down until it died, dropping equipment all over the place.
He leveled up!
The villagers were stunned on the spot: "!"
He must be a cultivator.
Later...
Yuan Yi simply took on the role of a Buddhist monk, forcing the demons and monsters to mend their ways. Then, having reached max level, he ascended to heaven.
The demons and monsters trembled in fear: "!"
He must be a reincarnated god or Buddha!
World Three: The Three Realms Apocalypse.
Famine and plague ravaged the mortal realm, while natural and man-made disasters struck one after another. Gods and demons dragged the human world into their battles, eventually causing humanity to go extinct, after which gods and demons vanished as well.
The System was dumbfounded once again. "Host, you drew another useless card this time: [Dream Entry Skill]. You can't do anything except use this."
Yuan Yi mused, "This skill should be able to pull everyone into a dream, including the gods and demons, right?"
The System: "???"
And later...
In world after world, tales of his salvation gradually spread, until people even revered him as a god.
[Written for pure feel-good fun. The protagonist never gets exposed. Sometimes he plays a savior, and sometimes he plays a character bent on destroying the world.]
