Bringing a Magic System to the Republic of China

The master magician Cheng Banyue "died" during an escape trick after being framed by his assistant. When he woke up, he had become Banyue, a young performer in the Cheng Family Troupe.

Looking at his bound hands and the tightly shut cell door, Cheng Banyue begins to flex his fingers. As he breathes in the free air and feels that he has finally come alive, a voice sounds in his ear.

[Congratulations, Host, on completing the C-rank magic trick, Cellar Disappearance. The Magic System has been activated. Begin deceiving the world.]

"All the little beggars locked in the cell turned into leaves!"

"The medicinal herbs stored in the warehouse have disappeared."

"How did they learn of my plan? Who is spying on my thoughts?"

"We chased them up the tower, but found nothing except this playing card."

"We've killed the wrong person. The man on the gallows is a neurosurgeon from Butterfly Hospital."

In later research, someone once produced half a page of notes, so damaged that only a few fragments remained:

Cheng Banyue: I'm a magician, not a sorcerer... In this era, I can't hold back the raging tide. I can only hope a spark survives.

Xia Liuxing: Your presence is the most incredible magic... If we can't meet again in a peaceful age, I can only hope you travel safely on the road ahead.
