They grew up together. Lu Yingnan always made sure Gong Yu had plenty to eat and drink, and promised they would be together for life. He called him "little brother Ayu" every chance he got, but when Gong Yu fell ill, he left without a word.

During the three years Gong Yu was forced to serve in the army, he fought his way up the ranks, desperate for a chance to find Lu Yingnan. But for three years, there was no word from him.

Then, after returning to the capital and receiving an honor, Gong Yu unexpectedly ran into Lu Yingnan at a high-ranking official's home.
