[Main story complete] [Updated daily at 3:00 p.m.]
After transmigrating into the body of an herb gatherer in Taoxi Village, Mu Xueqing lived with his grandfather. One day, while gathering herbs in the mountains, he came across a man who had fallen off a cliff. Mu Xueqing had no intention of getting involved, but the man clung to him even while unconscious, as if he were accusing him of causing the accident. With no other choice, Mu Xueqing looked after him. When the man woke up, however, he had lost his memory and recognized only Mu Xueqing.
Unable to drive him away, Mu Xueqing took him home and put him to work for free. The man was strong, and he proved to be a great help to Mu Xueqing, who had always wanted to improve their lives.
The villagers all said Mu Xueqing would be the one to suffer in the end. Outsiders couldn't be trusted, they said. The man would eventually leave, and might even bring danger to the village.
But then everyone watched as life at Mu Xueqing's home steadily improved. Their crops flourished, their livestock thrived, and Mu Xueqing invented all sorts of strange things that benefited the whole village.
The gossip gradually died down, and the villagers accepted the outsider who lived by Mu Xueqing's side. But unexpectedly, the man really did leave, never to return. Everyone thought it was unfair to Mu Xueqing, but he was more at peace with it than anyone. He knew there was no point in trying to hold on to someone who couldn't be kept.
Then, one day, while out buying some necessary supplies, he brushed past someone. At that single glance, the other man's eyes turned red, and he searched for Mu Xueqing like a madman.
The Prince of Huai was a brave and capable warrior. He conquered cities and territories, bringing them all to heel, and defended his father against enemies from every direction. Yet after he went missing, he developed a strange illness, always saying that in his dreams he saw an immortal, someone he could see but never reach.
Everyone said he was sick, but no one expected him to one day abduct a beautiful young man and refuse to let go, defying orders and enduring his father's whip.
At the time, he rode through the streets with his men. Someone caught a distant glimpse of half a face beneath the cloak in his arms, and thought it looked as though an immortal had appeared.
They assumed the young man was only pretty to look at, but later, a little immortal appeared in the military camp, helping everyone eat their fill and build higher walls.

NPC: All-Round Player [Full-Dive]
After transmigrating into an NPC in a full-dive game, Yin Yuehui became a menial disciple with no talent for cultivation and a spiritual root so thin it couldn't be detected. Every day, he planted spirit herbs, helped the cooks, assisted the blacksmith, and even learned to mine and fish. He also had to swing his sword thirty thousand times a day. He worked so hard that even the most exacting cultivators couldn't find a single fault with him. And yet, despite all his effort, Yin Yuehui's cultivation didn't improve in the slightest.
Everyone in the sect said the menial disciple was a fool. What was the point of doing so much? He didn't even know how to slack off. Yin Yuehui just stroked his cat and sang, seemingly not caring at all.
Only he knew that he was waiting for a voice:
At last, one day, a mechanical voice that only he could hear rang out from the sky:
[The full-dive game Heaven's Will has officially begun open beta. Enjoy your game.]
From then on, Yin Yuehui had another identity: player.
So what if he had no spiritual root? He could give himself quests and convert experience into spiritual energy.
So what if he had low status? As an NPC, he had access to the most comprehensive collection of beginner skills in the entire cultivation world. As his cultivation rose, so did his status. His skill proficiency rose, too.
He would reach the pinnacle of the cultivation world, and he would be the number-one player.
His only real worry was that his cat had turned out to be a person! Though that person was a cheater, too.
Theme: Whatever you face, overcome the obstacles and strive for a better life.
