My Simulated Lover

After hesitating for "a whole" minute, Lu Kongkong signed his name in a flourish on the Companion-Style Realistic Robot Purchase Agreement.

Having transmigrated into the insect race for over twenty years, Lu Kongkong had adapted well to this cold-blooded, battle-hardened species, famous throughout the stars.

It was just that... his fellow insects were all so cold and abstinent, which left Lu Kongkong rather uncomfortable. He was the sort of insect who liked lazily shedding his shell to bask in the sun on a bright day. It would be even better with a pastry, some coffee, and a pretty face to chat with.

He couldn't count on his fellow insects, and other species only knew how to tremble in fear.

Why were they so scared? He was perfectly gentle whenever he wasn't on the battlefield. Lu Kongkong was quite displeased, but after he voiced his displeasure, they trembled even harder.

"What a disaster! A battlefield demon pretending to be a friendly little bunny. Look how terrified everyone is." His fellow insects pointed fingers and criticized him without mercy behind his back. Of course, it had to be behind his back. They had no interest in stepping into the combat arena to spar with that guy (and get beaten senseless).

But all of Lu Kongkong's troubles vanished when the mechanical race released its latest realistic lover... uh, no, companion-style realistic robot.

Who could turn down something made a hundred percent to order? Lu Kongkong certainly couldn't.

Some consciousness in the void danced with such joy that its tentacles tied themselves in knots, crying out, "I can do it! I can look however you want. I can be anything you like!"

Additional note: The insect-race setting is based on the insect race from that interstellar novel's big bad.
