[Haikyuu!!] Never Date a Younger Guy!

Tōru Oikawa, second-person POV, short story, romance.

“‘Tenderly and wildly, I am broken, my body scattered; even so, I do not want the shore. I want the waves to rise and roll.’”

“When did you fall in love with poetry?”

“When I saw the Perito Moreno Glacier.”

“Argentina?”

“Go see it, Oikawa.”

“...Why?”

“Bastards like us have nothing but our pride, and nowhere to go but forward.”

“Whoa, is that a curse? Iwa-chan has already...”

“No.”

“It’s a blessing.”

On the flight to Argentina, Tōru Oikawa opened the farewell gift. It was a tiny package, and it didn’t feel like it contained a ring: just a little metal volleyball charm. It was in Mikasa colors, the kind they both found comfortable to use.

A handwritten note lay quietly beside the charm.

“See you in the future”

That was where they were both headed.

Reader information:

1. Original female lead, a near-national-team-level setter, older than Oikawa;

2. Their names sound the same: “Toru” is pronounced the same for both “Tōru” and “Toru” in Japanese;

3. Both have exes;

4. More to be added if I think of anything;

5. Making it five because it looks better.

Theme: To be each other’s ideal, and to be each other’s love.
