A Disney-style runaway princess, soft and sweet, paired with a cold, devoted Federation Marshal
Ryan Oslo is a princess from a small country on the Disney Continent. Ignored by her father since childhood, she was raised by her mother as a daughter. After her mother's death, she lived with the servants, until one day she was hauled into a carriage to marry in her elder sister's place. Only then did she realize there was no longer a place for her at home.
After transmigrating into an interstellar world, he is bound to an Animal Rescue System and discovers that everyone in this world is born with a bonded beast. His ability to talk to animals is no longer strange.
He then learns from the System that the people of this interstellar world share a common enemy: dark creatures. They contaminate human mental domains, causing people to lose consciousness and their bonded beasts to lose control and turn feral.
Their task is to rescue those poor bonded beasts and help them regain their reason.
An off-the-charts affinity, powerful mental strength, and a healing voice...
These are all abilities Ryan was born with, and they will be the beginning of his transformation of the age.
As the Federation Marshal, Xi Lingxiu never imagined he would one day be ambushed. His mental domain, already contaminated by dark creatures, was on the verge of collapse. His bonded beast had fled and vanished, and his consciousness had fallen into chaos, sinking into an eternal slumber.
He thought he would eventually die as a vegetable, but one day he opened his eyes again and discovered that his consciousness had attached itself to his missing bonded beast. Even more astonishingly, the usually aloof and proud snow wolf was carefully protecting a delicate boy asleep in its arms.
Reading Notes:
1. Plot-driven, with a slice-of-life feel. Early on, the story features livestreaming, farming, and rescuing small animals. Later, the characters take on missions to fight dark creatures.
2. Please point out any plot holes. This silly author sometimes has a brain freeze. Thanks for your patience.
3. I previously wrote over 40,000 words of a romance-focused version of this story, but got stuck and abandoned it. I've now rewritten it into the current version. If it's not to your taste, please remove it from your collection. Thank you.
---- Please add my upcoming book to your reading list, thank you!
"The Dragon Hatchling's Otherworldly Shopkeeping Sim"
High school student Jing Lin falls from a tall building while saving someone. When he opens his eyes again, he has become an unhatched dragon egg.
Before he can figure out what's going on, he is bound to a System and told that he is an egg that will suffocate if he doesn't hatch soon. To hatch, Jing Lin has to open a shop and earn energy.
And so Jing Lin, the dragon egg, sets off down a one-way road of working hard and opening a shop to stay alive.
First shop: A drink shop in an elven forest
The mysterious elves have subsisted on flowers, fruit, and dew for years, until Jing Lin opens a drink shop.
"Boss, one strawberry milkshake, please. My kid won't stop crying for one."
"Boss, twenty iced Americanos to go. Our team is on night duty today."
"Boss, one iced lemon soda. Life without fizzy drinks isn't really living."
Second shop: A flower shop in an interstellar beastfolk world
In the interstellar age, humans have deliberately fused animal genes into their own to grow strong enough to establish themselves across the galaxy.
However, beastfolk genes have a hidden flaw. Every so often, they go berserk and turn into mindless beasts. Only green plants can ease their condition a little.
But in the future, resources are scarce and pollution is severe. A single green plant is hard to come by, until Jing Lin opens a flower shop.
Orchids, narcissus, and cockleburs
Jasmine, lilies, and gardenias
Bellflowers, begonias, and tulips...
There's no green plant Jing Lin won't sell, only ones the beastfolk haven't thought of.
Third shop: A movie and karaoke shop in the middle of the ocean
Fourth shop: A hot pot and hot spring village in an icebound apocalypse
Fifth shop, sixth shop...
Reading Guide:
* A cozy, slow-paced slice-of-life story. Come to Dragon Island and virtually raise the little dragon hatchlings with us.
* There is a pairing, one-on-one and both leads are sexually inexperienced. The love interest is the head of the dragon clan, a fatherly type. The romance comes later; before the protagonist grows up, their relationship is purely familial.
* Plot-driven. Please tell the author about any plot holes so I can fix them. I have a bad memory.
Theme: Nothing comes without hard work
