During one maintenance inspection, Luna discovers that her weight has increased by 21 grams, leaving her good friends, the Tachikomas, stunned.
Tachikoma A: This is serious. According to a medical paper published in April 1907, a ghost may weigh 21 grams.
Tachikoma B: Does that mean Luna has a ghost of her own?
Tachikoma C: That paper is highly controversial. It should be treated as nothing more than a story.
Tachikoma D: But will Luna be sent away for being suspected of having a ghost? Like we were back then?

The extra 21 grams sparked a discussion among the intelligent AIs.
In the end, they made a decision.
To ensure they could stay safely in Section 9, they would erase the extra 21 grams from the maintenance records.
