A Record of Flavors

Everyone eats and drinks, but few truly know the taste.

Shen Wan transmigrates. Looking at the bare-walled house and her gaunt younger siblings, she feels completely overwhelmed.

Fortunately, though she brought no money with her, she did bring her skills. At least she won't starve to death in this little mountain village.

She gathers wild greens in the hills and catches river mussels in the water. Even with the plainest ingredients, she can make the most delicious meals!

As she fills her siblings' stomachs, she also makes a name for herself as a little cook.

Whenever anyone in the surrounding villages is marrying off a son or daughter, they come to ask Shen Wan to cook. With the same ingredients and the same budget, she always manages to make a more delicious, impressive feast than anyone else.

And so, wielding her spatula and ladle and carrying her cleaver and chopping board, Shen Wan makes her way from a little mountain village all the way to Shuntian Prefecture.

Even a little cook can make a big difference. The name of Five Flavors Studio will one day ring across the land!

The bustling life of a Ming Dynasty village cook, and the many flavors of life: sour, sweet, bitter, spicy, and salty.

Theme: In this world, only love and good food are beyond reproach.
