Thinking of You Amid the Endless Flow of People

[Complete, needs editing]

- Secret love, reunion after a long separation, school and city life.

- Later, Shi Yushi and Xing Ran got married. Ruan Hua returned to Nanxi a day early to be a bridesmaid, and a friend told her that a few days ago, Xing Ran had been chatting on the phone with his best friend Chi Yue. Chi Yue said that he had liked her back when they were in their second year of high school.

For a moment, Ruan Hua thought she had misheard.

Books always love to write about those secret crushes too deep to speak of: a boy's white shirt and black hair stirred by the evening breeze. Riding once on the back of his bicycle is a girl's biggest dream in her youth.

Years later, Chi Yue returned covered in honors. He was only staying briefly before leaving again. Before he departed, he told the girl he could grant her one wish, any wish at all.

He thought Ruan Hua would ask him to stay, but she said she wanted to ride once on the back of his bicycle.

Later, Chi Yue didn't leave after all.

[He liked her too. She just didn't know it.]

Reading notes:

The ending is open. Readers can decide whether it's a bad or happy ending.

A slow-burn school romance, followed by a swift reunion in the city.

The leads are soulmates. The writing is lightly literary, so read with care if that may not suit your taste.

The city reunion takes place in chapters 27-34.
