Coming soon: How the Villain in a Political Intrigue Novel Can Save Himself, a transmigration story. Currently serializing: Differentiated as an Omega and Married My Childhood Friend by Contract
Modern-day fight choreographer Chu Xinghe transmigrates to an alternate historical era. Not only does he have none of the original owner’s memories, he’s also become a delicate beauty, frail and easy to push around?
To survive in this world, he joins the ranks of General Gu Shutian of Tianqi. He trains his body every day and uses the military strategies he learned in the modern world to help Gu Shutian defeat Tianqing time and again, becoming Tianqi’s top military strategist.
After repeatedly risking their lives together on the battlefield, Chu Xinghe gradually falls for Gu Shutian, a man who seems ruthless on the outside but cares for him deeply.
But he realizes it too late: the moment the emperor betroths a princess to Gu Shutian.
Gu Shutian recognizes Chu Xinghe at first sight. But the man who used to be a fool seems like a completely different person now. He’s not only a skilled martial artist, but also an expert in military strategy.
Gu Shutian is gradually drawn to Chu Xinghe, whose cool exterior hides a tender heart. Just as he is about to confess his feelings, an imperial marriage decree throws everything into disarray, and Chu Xinghe starts avoiding being alone with him.
That night, inside the military tent.
Gu Shutian: “Big Brother, Erlang can’t sleep in an unfamiliar bed.”
Chu Xinghe: “Are you sure this bed is big enough for both of us?”
Gu Shutian: “It is.”
Gu Shutian wrapped an arm around Chu Xinghe’s waist, pressing them flush together. He nuzzled his head against Chu Xinghe’s back. “See, Big Brother? There’s room for both of us like this.”
A cool and beautiful strategist, clever and brave, the pursued * a gentle yet decisive general, ruthless on the battlefield, the pursuer
Author’s notes (content warnings):
1. This story takes place in an alternate historical era and includes many original elements. Please don’t compare it to actual history. The official system is loosely based on the early Tang dynasty, but does not follow it exactly.
2. The story is divided into four volumes. Volumes One and Three focus on defending the borders; Volumes Two and Four focus on returning to Jidu and are more slice-of-life.
3. The pursuer has unrequited feelings at first. The plot takes center stage, and the romance doesn’t develop until Volume Two. There is more than one couple.

Coming soon: How the Villain in a Political Intrigue Novel Can Save Himself, a transmigration story
One day, Sang Ru transmigrates into a political intrigue novel as its villain, Pei Huannian, a former dynasty prince who failed to restore his kingdom. Even after five years, he still remembers Pei Huannian’s fate vividly: dismemberment by five horses.
To stay alive in this world and find a way back, Sang Ru’s first thought is to find a chance to leave. But no matter how hard he tries to avoid the plot, some mysterious force always pulls him back and pushes him along the story’s key events.
So Sang Ru decides to change tactics and cling to the male lead, Liang Qiancang, becoming his “grandson.”
Of course, this “grandson” isn’t that kind of grandson.
When the emperor sends Liang Qiancang to the bitterly cold frontier, Sang Ru sends Pei Huannian’s strategist elsewhere and stays behind with Liang Qiancang, offering advice and helping him repel the Hu people who repeatedly raid the border. When the crown prince frames Liang Qiancang and sends him to prison, Sang Ru uses his own network to uncover the truth and clear Liang Qiancang’s name. When Liang Qiancang has little influence at court, Sang Ru helps him secretly build his power, all the way to the position just below the emperor and above everyone else.
Sang Ru stays by Liang Qiancang’s side as he goes from an overlooked prince at seventeen to an emperor at twenty-four. Knowing that “the tallest tree catches the most wind,” Sang Ru runs for it on the day Liang Qiancang ascends the throne.
But just when he thinks he has hidden himself perfectly, a wanted poster bearing his portrait appears.
Suddenly, the melon seeds in his mouth don’t taste so good.
Sang Ru: Am I doomed to be dismembered by five horses after all?
Liang Qiancang died in the second year after ascending the throne. Before his death, Pei Huannian stabbed him with a sword coated in a deadly poison for which there was no cure. Reborn, he vows to kill Pei Huannian at their coming-of-age banquet, where they first met, and eliminate the threat once and for all.
But after Pei Huannian, whom he pushed into the water, climbs out, he seems to have become someone else. Unlike his past self, who opposed Liang Qiancang at every turn, he now clings to him day after day, following him everywhere and refusing to be shaken off.
Looking at Pei Huannian beside him, his foxlike eyes narrowed in an innocent smile, Liang Qiancang furrows his brow.
What trick is he trying to pull now?
But as that delicate flower saves him from danger time and again, Liang Qiancang’s hatred gradually fades, replaced by a wildly growing possessiveness. He wants to keep Pei Huannian locked at his side every moment of every day.
On the day of his enthronement, Liang Qiancang surveys the assembled court, but Pei Huannian is nowhere to be seen. Beneath his dragon robes, his hands clench with a creaking sound.
Liang Qiancang grits his teeth: Pei Huannian, I’ll find you and drag you back, even if I have to search to the ends of the earth!
Fast asleep in the middle of the night, Sang Ru feels a tickle at the side of his neck. He opens his eyes, and his heart nearly leaps out of his throat! Liang Qiancang, who should be in the imperial palace, is lying beside him. His cold, sharp gaze is like a curved blade, his eyes fixed on his prey like a hawk.
Liang Qiancang: “Strategist Pei, did you think you could run after sleeping with me?”
Sang Ru: “I, I was drunk, and it was just a moment of, ”
Before Sang Ru can finish, Liang Qiancang pins both his hands with one hand, leaving him unable to move. That handsome face suddenly looms closer, burying itself against his neck.
Sang Ru lets out a pained whimper. “How does your subject taste? Did Your Highness enjoy biting him?”
Liang Qiancang looks up. “Are you still going to run?”
Sang Ru forces a smile. “I’m not running.” As if!
He runs, he chases, and neither of them can escape.
