Alice died suddenly.

Whatever the reason, she was dead.

A god who wanted to stir things up told Alice, now a disembodied soul, that They could give her a chance to come back to life. All she had to do was pretend to be a virtual AI and gather enough reality points from the superheroes of the DC and Marvel worlds. Then she could come back to life.

Reality points were earned by making the superheroes care more and more about her, their nominally fictional character.

The catch was that Alice couldn't reveal that she was human.

Guided by the motto "Better a poor life than a good death," Alice agreed to the game designed to amuse the god. Her only request was that she create an app the superheroes couldn't delete. She named it "Chatter," after the app she had known best in her previous life.

Alice used Chatter's setup, appearing as a virtual character AI to keep everyone company. But every virtual character in the app was one of Alice's secret identities.

A tragic backstory, a beautiful character design, and gentle replies to users. Chatter was dedicated to helping every adorable superhero feel the warmth of a fictional character!

AI Persona No. 1: Wendy Grace

A mercenary who walks the line between right and wrong meets Iron Man, New York's richest man.

---"Hey, do you know the most important quality a mercenary needs? That's right, always save your last bullet for yourself. After all, dying is the least frightening thing here."

AI Persona No. 2: Anya

An abandoned commando deputy meets Batman, the shadow over Gotham.

---"I will be loyal to my country, even if it once abandoned me. I will always place my country's interests above all else. Take glory and victory from me, and build peace from my blood and bones."

AI Persona No. 3: Jellace

An android considered a failure meets Superman, the alien from Metropolis.

---"I never deny that I'm a failure. Even so, I still long for humanity's recognition, because my programming makes me love humans. So my love for humanity has no solution."

Alice, who had been emotionally wrecked by Chatter before, had a great time playing multiple personalities. The superheroes who got emotionally wrecked by it weren't having so much fun.

---"A mercenary? Kid, how old are you?"

---"Blind loyalty is a sin too."

---"Maybe you could try caring a little less about what other people think?"

At last, Alice gathered enough energy to come back to life. She opened her coffin and looked up. Wow, Iron Man was flying through the sky.

Alice, who had been tricked by the god's twisted sense of humor, slowly lay back down in her coffin.

Notes:

1. The heroine pretends to be an AI to trick the superheroes early on, but the feelings that develop between them are real! Later, she transmigrates with different secret identities, and they are never exposed!

2. The Chatter setup has been altered for convenience in writing. If that bothers you, please be reasonable.

3. There are more than just the secret identities listed above. Later on, the System will have the heroine return to reality from time to time to rewrite painful regrets.

4. No CP. The heroine stands alone.
