The Mermaid Goes Viral as the Foil on a Dating Show

Qu Luoyu was a girl group member. To promote the group's lead singer, the company made Qu Luoyu join the same dating reality show as her foil.

For context, the group's lead singer was known as "the voice of a mermaid," though the company had spent a lot of money making that happen.

Qu Luoyu was the least popular member of the group. The best she could do was sing without going too badly off-key.

A real mermaid who had been forced to debut just to make a living, Qu Luoyu could only say innocently that singing wasn't actually a standard mermaid skill. That was just literary embellishment by you humans.

Qu Luoyu: "Fishy really tried her best. I'm not a sea siren!"

The dating show's first stop: an aquarium.

The lead singer didn't want to pose awkwardly on land wearing a fake mermaid tail, so she pushed the persona the production team had carefully prepared for her onto Qu Luoyu.

Qu Luoyu patted her own two legs, which had only recently stopped being a fish tail, and curiously put on the mermaid tail. Then she jumped into the water with a splash.

Fishy swished her fake tail.

That's weird. Let's swish it again.

This is fun, but waiting for the keeper to bring her food is still more important.

Nothing can stand in the way of Fishy getting her food.

The keeper showed up with a bucket of fish to pair up with her on the show. He was the king of the music scene, and a sea siren himself. He watched the mermaid inside the clear aquarium blowing bubbles at him and silently took a step back.

Oh no, the most ferocious mermaid of the deep sea is acting cute for him!

How strange. He should take another look, just one more.

She's so cute!!!
