Chen Xing has an online partner who's thoughtful, attentive, and incredibly patient. They send him holiday greetings and digital red envelopes right on time, no matter what the occasion. Whenever they argue, they gently coax him until he forgets why he was mad, and they even send him long, heartfelt messages from time to time.
They had been dating happily for a year, but whenever Chen Xing suggested meeting in person, his partner always came up with a different excuse to back out:
Normal excuses, like being too busy studying for exams.
And less normal ones, like having to rush off to put out a fire at his grandpa's house.

Just as he was wondering whether he should keep dating, he happened to see the screen of his sworn enemy Li Kong's phone, which he'd left unlocked.
Recognizing the familiar profile picture and username, Chen Xing raised an eyebrow.
After class, Chen Xing slapped his hand down on Li Kong's desk and asked with keen interest, "One Leaf on a Boat?"
Li Kong froze. ...
Without another word, Chen Xing grabbed him by the collar. "Come on. If you're a man, fight me!"
Li Kong sighed, kissed the tip of his ear, and said with a smile, "How about we meet in person first?"
