Arch-enemies / fake-death secret identity / third-person narration
The day I died, the summer night was the quietest it had been in a hundred years.
Knowing I had plenty of enemies, my friend hid my ashes in a little temple on the mountain behind the village.
Just as they were about to burn incense, someone pushed open the door, looking displeased.
It was Jin Hanyan, who had already ascended to the ranks of the immortals.
She slapped my friend flying, then casually stole a fruit from the altar.
Watching this little bastard run wild while I was powerless to do anything,
I could only think: The rumors were true. Jin Hanyan had become so broke she was even stealing the offerings meant for yours truly :)

Legend has it that Shi Buwan and Jin Hanyan were twin lotuses in the hands of a goddess.
Born as yin and yang, one was good when the other was evil, one was strong when the other was weak, one flourished when the other waned.
When one died, the other lived.
They lived in harmony for half their lives, then became bitter enemies and fought for the other half.
Shi Buwan knew perfectly well she couldn't beat Jin Hanyan, so she agreed to someone else's fake-death plan, turned on her heel, and ran.
But she never knew that later, Jin Hanyan would develop a heart demon for her and bury the world.
She would also enter the mortal realm for her, and stay among humanity.
Quirky-minded, carefree little immortal (Shi) vs. fake ice queen, real black-hearted lotus / human weapon (Jin)
Theme: Youth listens to the rain without a care; only when our hair turns silver do we grow indifferent. Fear neither the long years nor the years already gone.
