This is not a normal magical world.
From the very first day Tan Shang transmigrated here, he saw the sky collapse and blood-red tentacles reach out, and realized this all too well.
He thought it was a nightmare, but when the blood rain soaked him to the skin, he learned that this was an irreversible reality.
After a difficult journey, he finally reached a small town and discovered that he had transmigrated into a book:
He was now the youngest son of a down-and-out duke, a rebellious runaway from the trashy bedtime read he'd picked up the night before, The Demon King's Runaway Sweetheart. The problem was, he hadn't finished the book!
But it wasn't long before Tan Shang realized that even if he had finished the story, it wouldn't have helped. He had arrived a hundred years before the novel's plot began, when humanity had yet to conquer magic and the world was overrun by the uncanny, full of peril.
Tan Shang: Can a golden finger from a hundred years in the future even be called a golden finger?
Fortunately, the heavens were kind and opened a window for Tan Shang:
He suddenly awakened his magical talent and became one of the few adventurers able to travel alongside the uncanny.
Tan Shang took a deep breath, his eyes shining, and then
Put every one of his magic attribute points into attack.
His fragile little heart couldn't handle the play-it-safe approach. He'd rather take the initiative!
Tan Shang worked diligently, eking out a living in the cracks, and finally survived until the story began. He had not only become a great mage looked up to by everyone, but had also gotten a boyfriend.
The familiar turn of events stirred his long-buried memories. To be safe, Tan Shang used a prophecy spell to fill in the rest of the story he hadn't finished, then fell silent:
Why did the face of the evil mastermind, a world-destroying mass murderer, look so familiar in the spell?
Tan Shang turned around and saw that very face poking through the doorway with a smile.
“Darling, dinner's ready.”
In the shadowed corner of the room, something formless brushed through the air and silently coiled around the pale ankle of the person in front of it.
A timid yet reckless genius mage shou X a nonhuman gong who loves observing humans and is especially fond of the shou.
Author's note: My take on Western fantasy mixed with Lovecraftian horror, written for my own amusement. Just making something fun, hahaha.
